"Great location, friendly/helpful staff. Fine views from the bar and restaurant. Parking is expensive at £20 per night. Room was clean and decent, but overall it’s a little bit tired, with Wetherspoons-like carpet, worn paintwork, creaky doors etc. It could certainly do with a spruce up. Spa was very good."

"I accidentally spilled a 400ml bottle of milk. Most of it got on our unopened suitcase, and some of it leaked onto the carpet in the room. I immediately grabbed a towel from the room and laid it on the floor to soak up the liquid. A few days after checking out, I was shocked to discover that the hotel had charged us £250 without any prior email or notification explaining the reason. After contacting Ctrip, I was told that there were urine stains on the carpet in our room, requiring deep cleaning, which is why they deducted £250. I swear it was only milk that spilled! How could we possibly have urinated on the room's carpet? Plus, I had already laid down a towel to absorb the liquid right away. Furthermore, under no circumstances should a hotel directly charge £250 without first explaining the reason or asking for our side of the story. I completely disagree with this charge and will continue to file complaints. "This hotel is located on a small hill in the Lake Windermere area. The courtyard is charming, the rooms are large, and the facilities are excellent. The service is also very good, and the breakfast is delicious. I really liked this hotel; it's worth staying at, and the price is reasonable for a hotel."

"The room was clean and spacious, and the location was okay, about a 15-minute walk from Windermere Pier. However, I recommend not including breakfast; it's better to eat out. While there were plenty of options for breakfast, each person was limited to one, and the value for money was extremely poor (expensive and mediocre!). You had to text or contact the host to let them know about the next day's breakfast, as they finish shopping by 6 p.m. I had a problem getting breakfast prepared because I couldn't tell them what I wanted. They served me a few slices of toast and bacon and eggs. Even the toast wasn't fresh, and one slice had mold on it. I've lived in the UK before, so how could fresh bread from the previous night be moldy? Or were they using cheap, discounted supermarket bread? Either of these assumptions is a waste of time and will only lead to a negative experience. I asked for a refund for breakfast before we even used it, but the host told me that breakfast pre-ordered through the platform was not refundable because they had already prepared it and the room and meal charges were combined, making it difficult to separate them."

"Nice view , but unfortunately very poor small kitchen/toilet facility for camping/ tipis and bell tent area. The toilets are right next to kitchen door in same building. I could literally hear someone taking sh*t while i was having my breakfast."

"The hotel is clean, offers parking, and serves a good breakfast that includes smoked salmon; the staff are friendly. However, the flooring is noisy—creaking when walking around, and even the footsteps of guests in the room above can be heard. Conversations in adjacent rooms are audible, and the toilet does not function properly."

"Room was a good size. Plenty of parking available. Swimming pool was nice. Nice view of the lake from the gardens. Very friendly staff. Lovely food. Pleasant gardens. The lounge was relaxing with nice sofa . Some minor issues: Lack of shower pressure ， toilet wouldn't flush properly, blood stain on the floor of the toilet, took ages to get hot water through for showering"
