BBQ night and amazing singing and dancing from the team were a particular highlight. Game drives were brilliant - Tim was an excellent ranger and we saw everything we could hope to see. "Solo female traveler. Stayed 3 nights in a suite. Woodall is a special place, with a wonderful staff, and I enjoyed every minute of my time there. What's to love: - Eduarn, the friendly and super-capable GM, is on top of everything. Prior to my trip, he was quick to amend my booking, answer my questions, provide information before I even asked (which route to take, where to stop along the way, etc.) During the stay, he was always available and on top of everything - Freddie, the pianist/restaurant manager (?)/go-to guy, is very warm, accommodating person. He's looking out for everyone - The deck, the deck, the deck! Comfortable sitting areas with views of the very active swamp. (Ornithophiles will be in heaven here) - The lodge is very accessible: straightforward journey from Port Elizabeth, good roads. Only 90 minutes from PLZ - My suite was gigantic, and it included outdoor showers (as well as indoor), tall ceilings, a private patio surrounded by nature, a dipping pool (got a kick out of the unironic "No Lifeguard on Premises/No Diving" sign), a refrigerator, USB outlets, safe, robes, slippers, etc. Lots of natural light and fresh air. Very quiet; dark at night; and AC worked fine - Complimentary bottle of wine; chocolates every night; welcome beverage; handwritten, personalized notes. Pastries (baked onsite) available in the lobby all day - Strong WiFi in common areas and rooms - They wash the guests' cars - Extremely comfortable beds. Strong, hot showers - Charlotte Rhys bath products - Spa onsite - Adjacent to Addo Elephant Park. So easy to take a half-day safari. Breakfast is provided. Lots of elephants, viewed up close - Both Eduarn offered a "to-go" breakfast when I told them I had to depart at 5:15 a.m. - Friendly, attentive restaurant staff - On-the-ball housekeeping What could be improved: - Uncomfortable dining room chairs"

Cape St Francis Resort
"Stayed in an upstairs unit, self catering , fully functional amenities. Unit was clean and spacious enough. The only thing that put us off completely was the noise levels and inconsiderate guests. Unfortunately they host functions on weekends which carry on late into the evenings and on Sundays host a live music band for the whole afternoon. If you want peace and quiet don't come here as it's always noisy on weekends. There are 2 restaurants which offer good food but if you are self catering stock up before arriving as the small café offers bare essentials. Sadly If you want to catch up on TV time the actual TV was fit for the trash as it was dismal and the options for channel selection even worse. If you want to relax in the evening bring your own entertainment. In summary if you are a couple looking for a tranquil time stay away from here, as a family with kids it's great. There is parking within the grounds close to your unit but can become congested at times."

"The cottage ( no 9) we stayed in was beautiful . Set in a lush garden with a wrap around stoep ensured the cottage stayed cool even in the heat of the day. Sundowners overlooking the swimming pool as the sun goes down was a highlight. The owners really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and ensure their guests are comfortable. Homestead is managed with pride love and care. Thanks for a lovely stay and for sharing your braai salt with us. Its the small things that matter and stay with guests."
The Lookout Guest House
"This was the second time we stayed at the Lookout in past three months and it really the only place to stay in Port Alfred. The location is superb, set up above the marina with wonderful 180* views out to sea. We stayed in Apartments 2 & 3 s/c units and they all have the same great attention to detail. Fresh coffee and milk, beautifully equipped kitchen if you choose to cook, huge bath towels, lovely white cotton bedlinen, warm throws if it gets chilly, lavender on the pillows and black out curtains so the lovely sun doesn't wake you! You can have fabulous cooked breakfast served either inside or out on the sunny terrace and is of the best quality - beautiful fresh fruit, yoghurt, juice and then huge option of cooked ingredients all cooked up by Alan and served by Louise's lovely friendly local girls. The whole place is spotlessly clean and Louise is always happy to help with any queries and to point you in the right direction... it really is a home from home and we will be very sad to leave after a ten day stay ..... but will be back next year no question "
