"Mr Upendra Singh and Mr Dhanraj Dubey’s team were very helpful and attentive, including Mr Rajiv Kumar and Mr Sonu Kumar at the restaurant ‘1951.’ The food was excellent as well as balanced in terms of spices and oil. The rooms were well furnished and welcoming. We are a family of four traveling from the U.S and the staff has been very gracious. At the restaurant, there is traditional Indian music played in person by two musicians who played on request. Dining is an enjoyable experience at this hotel. Highly recommended."

"Checkinoplevelsen var fantastisk.Vi nåede hotellet meget tidligere end check-in-tid but personalet indlogge os og gav os rummet inden for ingen tid.Jeg kan ikke huske navnet, hvis den dame, der hjalp os, men hun var virkelig hjælpsom. Efter check-in havde vi frokost i chowk-restauranten, hvor vi måtte vente lidt på ordren og frokost, men overordnet var oplevelsen god.Frugt i chowk var fantastisk samt med stor smag og mange muligheder.Værelse var fantastisk. Det var rent, rummeligt, havde gode dekorationer og faciliteter.Værelsesservice var også hurtig.Vi havde en stor tid at gå på hotellets fantastiske græs.Overordnet var opholdet perfekt og vi ville elske at besøge igen."

(It was one way 1800INR by Small Taxi.) Because it is along the Ganges River, Uber, including Rikisha, cannot be dispatched and only "walking" means of transportation. I went there during the hot season, so it was very difficult to walk on a narrow and intricate road in the crowds, and I couldn't explore other than along the river. I didn't ask the hotel staff, so maybe there was a means of transportation other than "walking". Ganga Aarti Ganga Artie, which I was the first purpose of my trip, will book a seat if you ask the hotel. (※ Free) We will take a hotel boat to the venue. "Varanasi is very noisy, but I requested a room further away from the front of the hotel and it worked. The fact that room was divided in two parts (before entering the main bedroom there was sort of a small private little room with a couch) also helped to give it sound proofing (from the interior hotel sounds). Anyway, this was the best feature of the hotel for me, ***** with the bathroom, which was pretty big and had a nice shower. Before coming to this hotel spent a few days in a different hotel, on Luxa rd., which was closer to the location I was going to the most: Dashashwamedh Ghat. The Dolphin hotel wasn't as near, and the streets around it weren't friendly to walk on, so while I was there I had to resort to using Tuc Tuc's all the time. What else? The Dolphin hotel is simple, the staff was friendly enough, and its restaurant (and breakfast) was nothing to brag about. (Food wise, I kept using Cafe 1916, the restaurant at Luxa Rd. that became my go-to place in Varanasi, for breakfast, lunch and often dinner. Good food, not too spicy, good price; it was suggested to me by a GuruWalk guide."

"My wife and I were visiting Varanasi for a few days and looking for a vegetarian restaurant - we were suggested Hotel Alka by our guide. We were served by ‘Jidu’ who was professional and helpful from the very beginning, he spoke very well in English which naturally was a bonus - especially as we wanted to avoid meals with nuts in. Food was delicious - we had 2 plain daals, 1 cheese pulao, 1 cucumber salad, 2 lassies and 2 chai’s to finish. This all came to only 920 rupees (around £7.70). We were also able to get a table with a view of the River Gange. Jidu went above and beyond - especially on our 2nd occasion here, as I wasn’t feeling too well and he was there to provide assistance where we needed, without asking of him. Definitely recommended to visit 🙏🏼"

The food catered is good. The services offered and the behaviour of the hotel staff are good. The only negative comment I would like to make is that the room rents and the food prices, by any standard, are definitely on the higher side"
