Romantik Hotel Hirschen

"Yet another wonderful couple of days spent as guests of the Hotel Hirschen. My wife and I love this hotel and stay every year on our way to Bavaria driving from the U.K. It is a perfect stop-over for us. The " posh " rooms are superb. Comfortable, quiet with great beds and a superb power shower. And then , each evening, a quick stroll over the road to the hotel restaurant that serves delicious dinners. Clever, innovative cooking. All beatifully served and on this occassion, I tried my very first " Bavarian Single Malt Whisky " ! As I think I have said before on previous reviews, the Hotel Hirschen is family owned and run and it clearly shows with how they value their guests. Oh and as a final plus , I am a car nut and need somwhere to park which is safe and secure for my beloved boy and the hotel has a large car park. Highly recommended !"

Hotel Lugerhof

"Vi var i Lugerhof i et par dage under Next Dragonstik. Hotellet ligger i en sjov sidevej i Döbersing/Weiding-området ca. 10 km fra Furth. Der er nok parkeringspladser, og cyklerne kan også afbrydes. Værelset var rent og godt udstyret, desværre mangler der ikke noget køleskab, men fru Luger har køleskab og holder sig til værelserne. Frue er omfattende, der er noget for alle. Man kan gå ind eller på den smukke terrasse morgenmad der kan man sidde der også om aftenen. Drikke er der op til 20:00. Mrs. Luger er en sød, hjælpende og venlig vært. Hun har givet os mange tips, også tidligere på telefonen, vi har følt os meget godt hos hende. Pris-ydelsesforholdet er okay. Vi kan anbefale Lugerhof."

"Just enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Goliath am Dom. Located an easy 15 minute walk from the train stage and in a great location to visit all the major sites in Regensburg. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding and there are several excellent restaurants for dinner nearby. The spa was much enjoyed after a long day of sightseeing."

"Overall nice hotel, fitness room is not equipped with weights. Cleaning ladies were very rude barged into our room while the do not disturb sign was hanged to make us leave earlier before checkout"

"The service was excellent; they helped with luggage and directed me to parking. The location is great, right in the old town. However, the cleanliness was just so-so; if that bothers you, you might want to avoid it. There really aren't many other good hotels in the old town."

"After traveling nearly 24 hours from California, I arrived at the hotel late at night, in the rain, and in the middle of winter—only to find it completely unstaffed. There was no signage or welcome, just a key retrieved from a drop box tucked in a poorly lit corner by the front door, exposed to the elements. The key itself was unusually heavy and offered no information other than a room number—no instructions, no map, no indication of where to go. I tried multiple doors without success before finally ringing the emergency bell. A man eventually appeared, looking irritated and disheveled, and wordlessly led me to a separate building, where he pointed me down a hallway to my room. Unfortunately, the room I was given looked nothing like the ones shown in the hotel’s promotional materials. While I understand that each room is different, this one lacked even the basics: no window covering, no comfortable bedding, and a general sense of being unfinished or neglected. I had to use a spare blanket to cover the window for privacy and to block car headlights. I had deliberately chosen this hotel over others in town because it appeared to offer a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere—ideal for recovering from long travel—but the experience fell far short of expectations. The next morning, I explained the situation to the front desk. Their response was indifferent, but they eventually agreed to move me to a room that more closely matched what had been advertised. That room was much better, and from that point on, the stay was decent and breakfast was enjoyable. That said, I remain baffled that the first room is even in circulation. It felt like a last-resort option that should only be used in emergencies, if at all. "We were here from 03. to 08.März 2026 and were very warmly received. The first impression has been strengthened over the full stay time, we were happy around. The rooms were very clean, it was nothing missing the beds very comfortable with new mattresses. The view from the balcony to the Eixendorfer Stausee was beautiful. The breakfast was very extensive, it was something for everyone and it was always filled by very friendly and helpful staff when something was missing. The gastronomy at evening was also very recommendable. Our little dog was also warmly welcomed by very animal staff and was allowed to come with for breakfast and dinner. Finally, I would not like to leave the beautiful area un mentioned and of course we are very happy to come back. Thank you very much to the Greiner family and their staff for this beautiful week."
