"We had a terrible meal at this hotel. The cod fish was tasteless, and the seafood rice was the worst I ever eaten. Ty wee were at least 30 pieces of fake crab and very little actual seafood. The flavour was awful and we ended up not eating anything. The bill was more that 200 euro and the restaurant offered nothing as compensation. They didn’t even remove the the rice from the bill. This is an embarrassment to Portugal and to Geres."

"A great Apartment in a quaint town close to the fantastic national park Peneda Gerês. This apartment is extremely well set up and has a great kitchen, a comfortable double bed and good airconditioning. Well loved the small stone peasant village of Campo do Gerês with its grapevine street shade and quaint stone houses, food storage buildings and a couple of small bars. It is a great place to hike and explore the nature this Portuguese national park has to offer. We especially liked the rapids and bathing walk that starts at the border of Spain"

"We recently stayed at this gorgeous rural property in the heart of Gerês. While we absolutely loved our time here and plan to return, a few rigid policies and room omissions impacted our overall experience.The Highlights: Stunning Views and Impeccable Attention to DetailThe grounds of this hotel are absolutely immaculate, and every single employee we encountered was polite, attentive, and welcoming. We stayed in bedroom 303, which I highly recommend. It felt like it had the most spectacular, unobstructed view of the lake and the pool without looking onto other guests. As someone with a keen eye for detail, I deeply appreciated the high-end touches like the monogrammed sheets, premium towels, quality robes, and even the unique faucets. It shows the owners truly care about quality.The outdoor pool area is insane—absolutely incredible—and we thoroughly enjoyed the sun loungers. There is also convenient parking on site. For the adventurous, there are canoes available to use, though be prepared for a steep walk down a lot of steps to reach the river dock.Breakfast was another high point. It was well-cooked, tasty, and offered great variety. A quick tip for future guests: if you don’t prefer the standard coffee in the carafes, you can ask the staff for an espresso machine coffee instead, and they happily oblige. While there were no potatoes or hashbrowns (they served cooked courgettes instead as a healthier option), the overall breakfast spread was excellent.Spa & Indoor Pool FacilitiesThe hotel features an indoor pool and spa services. While we didn't take advantage of the spa treatments, the prices looked completely in line with what is standard across Portugal. The indoor pool itself is fantastic. Just be aware that Portuguese law requires you to wear a swim cap in indoor pools. We didn't bring our own, but the front desk offers pre-used ones, or you can purchase brand-new ones for €4 each, which is what we chose to do.Our main frustrations came down to convenience. The hotel restaurant requires you to submit your dinner order before 5:00 PM. Management claims this rigid policy is to avoid food waste, which I totally understand and respect. However, I feel they significantly overcomplicate the dishes. If they offered simpler, nicer staple options, they could easily accommodate guests who change their minds at the last minute—just like we did.We ate lunch once and dinner once at the property; while the food was good, it felt like the kitchen was trying a bit too hard. Our dinner dish had way too much meat and not nearly enough potatoes. My husband and I could have easily shared that amount of meat, and the dish overall would have been much better if there was just a bit more sauce.Furthermore, the dinner menu heavily leaned toward heavy winter dishes. The snack menu was decent, but it closed at 4:00 PM and required a one-hour advance notice to order. For a rural hotel where you rely on the property for comfort, this made the dining experience feel in"

"Jeg fandt det overordnet godt, det er nemt at køre, og det er vej til stranden på Porteallaga Fierta. Vejen er rolig og meget smuk. Med hensyn til overnatningsstrukturen, vi (jeg, mand og ven) i et værelse med 2 bælte, var sengelinned, komfortable, tilgængelighed af tøj, garderobe, klæde, håndklæde, ansigtssprøjte og krop. Værelset har individuelt lys på hver seng. Det negative er, at senge ikke har gardiner til at gøre det privat, da vi kun bliver mellem venner, var det ikke et problem, men hvis folk, der ikke kender dig, kan dele værelset, kan det være et problem. Det individuelle lys på hver seng forstyrrer den betjent ved siden af. Badeværelserne var rene, trykket på bruserne var meget godt, og de har badeværelse gel. Lyden fra andre gæster i de andre værelser kan forstyrre meget. Frugt var nok, hvis der var æg ville være perfekt for mig. Receptionen har cup noodles, og det var hvad reddede vores middag 🤣 Garage. Vi er glade for tjenesten og den generelle struktur. Det er et smukt sted, med fantastisk udsigt."
