"Two rooms booked. Accessibility room bed was incredibly low, which for someone with arthritis was impossible to get up from. Accessible toilet also very low. Neither room had been cleaned properly, sweet wrappers over the floor and bedding in both rooms was stained and the beds were unmade. All bedding and additional pillow need to be provided by the receptionist, who was friendly, but had to deal with everything including the complaints herself. Rooms were very low quality for the price. Air conditioning has been turned off through the hotel obviously in an effort to save money. Really bad experience so unfortunately, Will not be staying again as very disappointed. Taunton is a great town and this really gave the whole visit a sour note."

"Greenham Hall is an excellent place in a beautiful countryside setting. Rooms were clean, comfortable and had great views. The gardens and the restored victorian house are delightful. Caro, the hostess, is lovely. She was very helpful and kind throughout and went out of the way to make us feel at home.The breakfast was homemade and delicious. Highly recommended and thank you Caro for a wonderful stay!"

"The Notley Arms is a delightful country inn conveniently situated near the M5 in the Exmoor National Park, Somerset. We stayed overnight on our way to Cornwall and had an enjoyable time. Our room was situated in an old coach house adjacent to the main inn. The room was spacious, very clean and our bed was very comfortable. The food was excellent with a varied menu. The hosts were very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area. Thoroughly recommended."

"The worst place I have ever had the misfortune to stay in Arrived very late otherwise would have left immediately. Stale smell in reception that was worse in our ground floor room. Bedding and towels were old and dingy. Pillows and mattress smelly. Towels dingy and crusty. Curtain rail and curtains hanging off the wall Lady owner had a list of what we couldn’t do and even said what time we were allowed to go to breakfast Needless to say we didn’t bother and left early after a very unpleasant night Hotel is in dire need of renovation or closure and the owner is in denial about the true state of the place"

"Wonderful traditional pub/b&b. I stayed for 2 nights whilst down in Somerset, comfy beds and good sized rooms. The shared bathroom wasn't an issue, if anything it adds to the character. Really enjoyed the food, lots of options on the menu and specials board, and there is a great selection of local ales and cider on tap. Would definitely stay here again. "

"This is a 3/5 experience for us. The rooms are ok, nothing more (at least for the family room). Most importantly, we felt like you don’t get the “warm and fuzzy” feeling as with other B&Bs, and “abundance” is not a word to describe the experience of staying here. Almost every question we asked (i counted four) was met with a conditioned/hesitant (rather than generous and warm) response. The breakfast was also strange. A lot of what you usually would expect is “on request” to “reduce waste”. You want toast, you’ll get a slice to share between two. You want orange juice, it will come out in a small glass. You want yoghurt and fruit for the kids, you will get 1 strawberry cut in half, three small pieces of banana, and two teaspoons of yoghurt. To the point where for some, they will leave hungry and feel embarrassed to ask for more (like us!). We only noticed the difference after we stayed at a few B&Bs afterwards and realised it wasn’t in our head. There’s nothing wrong with the place, but for what you pay, it really isn’t great value, and as noted, you don’t leave with the “warm and fuzzy” feeling of other B&Bs. But if you have no where booked to go and on short notice, it’s a safe and not so bad option for a functional stay."

"Our second visit here and once again we loved everything! We had a warm welcome on arrival, the staff were all attentive and friendly. Food for dinner and breakfast was cooked perfectly and to top it all we had a lovely night’s sleep in a comfy kingsize bed. Room spotlessly clean too. We will definitely look forward to coming back again!"

"Stayed following a wedding in the village and as the only pub, were limited in our choice. Arrived later and the pub was busy and welcoming. Our spaciousness room with en-suite overlooked the road but as the village is small and rural, there was no road noise over night. Lovely cooked breakfast served till 11 so no need to rush after a later night."
