"We were staying in a cottage nearby and decided to visit the lighthouse for a three course evening meal. We booked ahead after reading other reviews and the dining room became full as the evening went by. The meal itself was five courses, with three choices, two set, all for a very reasonable price (£55 when we visited). There was a wide selection of wines available on the wine menu and something for every palette. The food itself was delicious, prepared thoughtfully and up there with what we're used to having in restaurant/fine dining settings.The atmosphere was cosy, relaxing and a warm welcome from the staff. We visited on a particularly hot day, and the restaurant area itself became quite warm. It's on aspect that would have made our dinner experience better was if the indoor temperature was cooler, but who are we to complain about having sunshine!"

"Stayed here for one night, and im glad it was only 1 night, i contacted the owner as we werent sure how to book in etc, politely told the door is open, the key is on the windowsill, when we did get there, on opening the door finding the key , there was an odd smell, very basic, it was cold, and remained cold even though the radiator was on wasnt bursting out with heat, there was no spare blankets either so i was cold most of the night, on the wednesday morning i was tired, cold glad to get back in the car, still no sight of anyone, i was a nurse ( rehab, id find patients a bed for the night when on community) for 44yrs and this reminded me of taking patients to homeless pods, but they were heated, so i very much doubt theyed stay there either, yes it was cheap but definately not cheerful, i certainly would not be staying again, id pay the extra and stay in a hotel with heating and comfort, as this was not comfortable at all, never again"

"Cannot comment on the food as felt so unwelcome after being offered halfheartedly a tuna sandwich. My wife and I along with our black Labrador were walking the coastal path and came across the hotel, restaurant and bar sign which was a very welcome opportunity for us to stop for food and drink. Unfortunately this sign is most misleading as they clearly do not want or cater for coastal walkers as reception and office staff were so unhelpful and rather rude. Such a shame as very much a place we would have consider dinning at during our stay in this beautiful region. Ironically empty lunchtime restaurant so not rushed off their feet. Suggest removing the hotel sign on the coastal path a replace with private and keep out!"

"Had a meal last night, I had the braised steak and mushroom in a large Yorkshire pudding which is absolutely loaded with steak and mushroom and vegetables in a lovely gravy accompanied by chips which was gorgeous, the steak was fantastic, my wife had the cod in breadcrumbs with salad and chips and said it was the best cod she had had in years. Pleasant staff added to a lovely evening. Would highly recommend."
