"We along with our traveling friends (two motorhomes) waited for 9 months an a waiting list to get in during Cool Deadwood nights. Two weeks before the event, they called and offered us two spots for four days at $372 each. We jumped at it. Sadly the following week our engine had major problems and we were unable to continue to Deadwood. We called the office and they said it was too late to get a refund and therefore we would have to forfeit the total amount. Not only that but they re-rented our two spots to other clients and gave the preferential renewal opportunity to them. We understand the demand for sites during special events and that a refund so close to the event is not reasonable. However to double book sites when your clients are experiencing difficulty just to make double the rental rate is just bad business."
