"If you’re looking for a very interesting experience on the top of a rice terrace overlooking a valley of beautiful rice terraces, Hello Mu Cang Chai Homestay is the place for you! I stayed here for 3 days/4 nights and must admit it was a fascinating and enjoyable experience. The owners, especially Ly, are very friendly and also funny too! The food is also good! On each of my 3 days there I went on local treks with local guide Tong who I highly recommend! Tong grew up in Mu Cang Chai so has an intimate understanding of the terrain, people, and the culture. Definitely request to trek with Tong if you are staying at Mu Cang Chai homestay!"

"We stayed for 2 nights at the Ta Xua Eco Lodge. We booked a double bed, which we also got, but this was in a large room in which the rooms were only separated with thin walls which were open at the top. So you heard everything that was talked about next door. Unfortunately, there were also vermin like cockroaches in the room, which of course was not so pleasant. The employees were nice and helpful, but often not found at the reception."

"I usually don’t leave reviews, but after this experience, I feel I have to. Overall, the resort is nice, but my experience wasn’t as smooth as I expected from a 5-star property. I stayed at r618 and requested a late check-out (just 30–60 minutes), but the front desk declined, saying the room had already been booked. However, I later saw that the same room type was still available online. I understand hotel policies, but I believe a bit more flexibility would make guests feel more valued. During check-in, the staff didn’t provide much information and mentioned there would be a guide in the room which unfortunately wasn’t there. I booked this room mainly for the large bathtub, but it couldn’t hold water properly. I had to call the technician to fix it, and even after that, the hot water only filled about one-fifth of the tub, which was quite disappointing. I expected much better service and attention to detail "

"It's located about 30 minutes by car from Mu cang chau and just above a little village. You have to walk a little steep trail up to get to the stay but this was absolutely no problem for us. The hut was very basic but lovely with a stunning view and nice veranda. Dinner was very good and very cheap. Ly cooked vegetarian for us every night and with free rice- wine. You can do some trekkings nearby and the people in the villages are very kind. We learned a lot about the flower Hmong people and love them."
