Premier Inn Skipton North (Gargrave) ★★★
"Stayed at Premier Inn Skipton North (Gargrave) for one night in June 2026. The room was clean and comfortable, which is what I've come to expect from Premier Inn, but the breakfast experience was very disappointing. When we arrived for breakfast, there was no bacon or eggs available. Considering these are two of the main items people expect from a cooked Premier Inn breakfast, it significantly reduced the value of what we'd paid for. I raised the issue with a member of staff at the time and was told that staff shortages and a late delivery were to blame. While I appreciate that operational issues can happen, no solution was offered and there was no attempt to compensate for the reduced breakfast offering. What was even more disappointing was the response afterwards. Despite contacting customer services and requesting either a refund of the breakfast charge or at least the difference between the Premier and Continental breakfast prices, no satisfactory resolution was provided. The hotel itself was fine, but paying for a full cooked breakfast and then finding key items unavailable, coupled with a lack of meaningful customer service afterwards, left a poor impression. Unfortunately, this experience has made me think twice about booking breakfast with Premier Inn in future"

Green Grove Country House ★★★★
"This was our second stay at Green Grove Country House, and won't be our last. Hosts, Zoe and Keith, make you feel so at home. We stayed on a B&B basis although you can stay room only, there is also a self catering unit too. Wide selection for breakfast that covers all tastes, porridge, fresh fruit, cereal, prunes, cooked breakfast to name but a few. If you go hungry, it's your own fault. The rooms are furnished very comfortably with everything you could need, comfy beds, wardrobe, drawer space, table top fridge for use during your stay with fresh milk for use with the tea and coffee making facilities, and a treat on arrival and an en suite bathroom with fabulous shower you never want to get out of. Zoe and Keith are very proud of where they live and offer great information of places to visit to make the most of your stay making as many memories as you can fit in. Green Grove Country House is quite simply a gem in the Dales, and worth every penny. Can't wait for our next visit."

"Very, very nice country hotel. The accommodation is comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. Insufficient: 1. The electric kettle is made of plastic rather than stainless steel. 2. We ate three breakfasts, maybe the chef made different breakfast standards are also different: the first day, enough; The second and three days, the amount was halved, my husband ordered a "full set of English breakfast" and I ordered "smoked salmon eggs", "smoked salmon eggs", bread, eggs, salmon from two to one."

"Great stay in the heart of the National Park with information and staff support to help us get the most out of our stay. Staff went out of their way to give is access information and encourage us to do the bit extra. A pity the hostel did not serve evening meals but there was easy access to the self catering kitchen where it was very busy but everyone helped each other. There were two good pubs in the village as well which did very good meals. We borrowed a mobility scooter from the local hotel which they hold on behalf of the National Park but it is important to book it through Debbie North at "Access to the Dales.com" but we were able to get it straight away as it wasn't already booked."

"The room was on the third floor, which might be a bit inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage. It wasn't huge but was clean and tidy. The Wi-Fi signal wasn't great; videos would buffer a few times, but sending and receiving emails was fine. It's very close to the town's scenic spots. Of course, the town is quite small, so it seems unnecessary to stay more than one night."

"Stayed here for two nights and had an excellent time , the setting was beautiful and had everything you could want. Flapjack on arrival was a treat absolutely amazing 😋 The Breakfast was a great experience and arrived at 9.30 as expected and was fantastic, fresh juice , fruit compote & bacon and egg baps fuelled us for the whole day. Took the river walk from there to Burnsall which was a great walk and even took a swim in the river ( with the towels included for this 😄 ) Cannot wait to return 🤞"

"Popped in the black horse yesterday on our 1940s trip to Grassington and so glad that we did! The staff were absolutely fabulous especially our waitress (I think she was called Amelia but brain fog at the moment and might be wrong) 😕. She was so friendly, funny and helpful - such a pleasure to have her serving our table and a credit to the restaurant. The food was also amazing. We all had the Swaledale sausages with mash - delicious. Followed by 2 portions of the salted caramel cheesecake which tasted gorgeous. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a visit."
