"Very surprised to find Shepton Mallet has turned into a ghost town. 1 uninspiring pub at the bottom of the high street and a bar that look passable 1/2 way up. Then we came across the Shruberry. For 2 nights we ate and drank very friendly service and excellent food. Thank goodness they were there as didn’t want to go out of town to eat and drink"

"Jeg blev på det smukkeste sted i går det oversteg virkelig mine forventninger.Selv om det er i en lidt fjern beliggenhed, som faktisk tilføjede charmen.Omgivelserne var fantastiske og fredelige, hvilket gjorde det til den perfekte flugt fra byen. Tjenesten var absolut fem stjerner, alt var spotløst og tankevækkende designet.Selv badeværelset havde massefunktioner, som var så luksuriøs.Hver detalje gjorde mig føle mig helt afslappet og passet på. "I love Charlton house, it was really quirky. The way it has been styled is really unusual. It makes you feel like you're in a bit of a fantasy world with the little corridors and quirky little nooks and crannies. For me it fit the bill, it did the job that I needed but I understand for those people that do not get it on an offer and pay a lot of money to stay there I understand how they might say that it's a bit dirty a bit tired a bit grubby and needs a bit of TLC. There seemed to be one very sweet man that was running around doing pretty much everything and the rest of the staff were hidden behind doors or just not there. I'm not sure. There were staff present in the spa and they were lovely and helpful and kind. My little room was gorgeous and cute and cozy, and clean enough although tatty in places. For me I really had a nice day and I would definitely come back. The breakfast was extremely basic but I didn't have extremely high expectations, and I'm not really a breakfast person, so again it may not make the tick box for others but it did the job for me. Thank you Charlton house."

"Very good accommodation. Clean, warm and plenty of hot water. The Shrubbery is not a premier inn but it is a family run hotel where you are treated as a person not a booking! The shrubbery has everything you need. Shepton Mallet is not a destination but if you need accommodation in the area close to Bath & West show ground The Shrubbery also offers very good food and a friendly bar. Book yourself into the Shrubbery and support traditional family run hotel."

Meget varm og fugtig til sommeren, da der ikke er aircondition, og ganske mange mosquitoer, mens vinduerne åbnede.
