"We arrived after a long flight from Australia and checked in at the Birkdale Guest House. From the minute we were greeted by Colin and Lesley we felt right at home at this venue. Our room was spacious, comfortable and had lovely decor. Everything was so clean and fresh including the spacious bathroom. The choices for breakfast were amazing, just so many and the food was delicious! The fruit salad was definitely the best fruit salad I've ever had! Birkdale Guest House is in a great location to access the old village with lots of eateries within a short walk, also close to Shanklin Chine and the beautiful Esplanade. The local buses are efficient and frequent and also very close by, if like us, you don't have a car. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay on our arrival into the UK and so glad we chose to visit the Isle of Wight. Thank you Lesley and Colin. "

"Another visit for us to this excellent small hotel set in the secluded Rylstone Gardens near Shanklin Chine and the sea front. The town and beach are only a short walk away. The hotel décor is splendid and owners Mike and Carole offer a warm welcome and great service. Mike is the chef and breakfasts are excellent. Recommended."

Villa Mentone Hotel

"The owner seemed really helpful and changed our ferry when we were delayed. The views from the property and location are great , reception also looks clean and modern. However once you climb the stairs the age shows, the carpet was loose on the stairs and in our opinion a trip hazzard, the handrail provides support, perhaps the stickiness of the handrail is helpful to some? The room was too small to fully open the bathroom door, the bathroom floor still had grouting all over if and felt unclean. The carpets generally felt unclean, perhaps because of their age. Upon arrival there was a banquet, we ordered drinks which were flat, after complaining we were offered alternatives for which they tried to over charge us. Our little girl had water and ice served in a dirty glass (it had lipstick marks on), we asked for a clean glass but were offered another dirty glass. When we pointed this out we were asked to select a clean glass – the ability to do so appeared beyond the staff member. There is a buffet breakfast, for us the cooked breakfast seemed to be dripping in fat, yoghurts are left out and not refrigerated, the toast was the best thing on offer, coffee is worth a miss. The owner said the breakfast was good value for money, if you are not fussed about quality, and just want quantity, then I see the point, but I can’t think of a worse breakfast I’ve had in the last 5 years. Before posting this we did mention concerns to the owner, we also reviewed the hotel review and pictures which we don’t believe are a true reflection of our stay. This hopefully will allow others to make a more informed decision regarding their stay."

The Royson Guest House

"I'm so glad I booked The Royson for my recent Isle of Wight trip with my two young children. Nigel was very polite and welcoming. The hotel location is amazing, quiet, close to beach and convenience store. The room is not very spacious but it had everything we needed. The room and beds were clean (cleanliness was one of my biggest concerns!). The breakfast included was absolutely lovely which as a mum I was so relieved that everyone was happy and full to start the day!!!!!!!! my kids love the play area downstairs! I definitely recommend the Royson!"

"En anden fantastisk ophold i Havelock.Værterne Paul og Vicky var utroligt velkommen og venlige, hvilket gjorde os føle hjemme fra det øjeblik, vi ankom. Hotellet var spotlessly ren overalt, og vores værelse var komfortabelt og velovervejet af den smukke husholderske ☺️ morgenmad var fantastisk, med et stort udvalg af frisk kogt mad til at starte dagen, og Holly gjorde et fantastisk stykke arbejde ved at sikre sig Fødevarer blev bragt ud på en rettidig måde og borde renset asap.Beliggenheden er også ideel – tæt på alt, hvad du har brug for, og perfekt til at udforske øen Wight. Vi ville ikke tøve med at blive her igen og ville anbefale Havelock til nogen, der leder efter en afslappende og sjov ophold."

"Først vil jeg gerne sige, hvordan fantastisk Chris og Katy (ejerne) er.Vi har boet her (Warren) tre gange, to gange siden de overtog.De er så varme, at de passer søde mennesker, at vi nu betragter dem som venner. De kunne ikke gøre mere, sådan et hårdt arbejde venligt, omsorgsfuldt par.De absolut perfekte værter.De gør dig virkelig føler dig velkommen og afslappet i der fantastiske ferielejligheder.Vi har allerede booket at bo igen i 2027! Lejligheden her er fantastisk, smukt dekoreret, rummelig, spotlessly ren, komfortabel med komfortable senge og alle de faciliteter, du måtte have brug for. Beliggenheden er fantastisk, rolig, med smukke haver og kirsebær på kagen er den nylærte udendørs opvarmede pool!Det perfekte rum til at slappe af og køle af. Lejlighederne er også en kort gåtur til den fantastiske shanklin kin, som er et must se turiststed, hvis du besøger. Kina tager dig, selv om et magisk skovland med et vandfald og smukke planter, der fører til Shanklin stranden og den bekvemt placerede pub fiskerens stue lige på stranden foran, stor til et måltid eller bare en drink eller 2. Vi kan ikke sætte pris på Luccombe villaferie lejligheder højt nok.Dette sted er et rigtigt smykke og også en stor værdi for penge.Ikke kun det bedste sted i Shanklin, men et af de bedste på øen. Det har alt, hvad du kunne ønske dig, hvis du vil have den perfekte getaway.Jeg vil også gerne tilføje, at dette sted ikke kun er til sommerferier, men ville være perfekt til en hyggelig vinterferie."
