"I have traveled for business and pleasure most of my life and I have stayed in the best hotels around the world. But when I think of a bad hotel experience I will always remember hotel Soho Palacio Real. From beginning to end all was mediocre. First, if you are not very familiar with the area, you have no idea where to park your car, and the streets are very narrow. Then, if you are up in age and not very athletic, you will have to carry all your bags to the hotel, as they do not have a porter (this hotel is a 4 start). As it was our wedding anniversary, they gave us an update to a junior suite. Well, I don’t want to see a regular room. This junior suite did not have enough space for the 2 of us plus our bags. The breakfast was at best run of the mill, very mediocre for a 4 start hotel. The service there was all quite poor. There were several tables empty, but dirty. To top it all, we had a medical issue and needed to leave the following day instead of the 2 days programmed and paid in advance. Needless to say, they refused to credit us for the night we were not going to spend there. If I ever go back to Santander, I know FOR SURE where not to stay"

"Min oplevelse med dette hotel har været meget skuffende. Jeg måtte annullere min reservation to dage før på grund af en helt berettiget force majeure. Jeg forstår godt, at en virksomhed ikke ønsker at tage tab for en sidste time afbestilling, og derfor har jeg foreslået et fornuftigt alternativ: at ændre reserven for lavsæson. Desuden var hotellet ikke fuldt ud på disse datoer, så dette valg ikke medførte nogen økonomisk tab. Desværre, de nægtede enhver mulighed for at finde en løsning, så jeg mistede 100% af reservationen. Efter flere e-mails, der forklarede situationen, har de ikke længere svaret mig fuldstændigt. Ud over annulleringspolitikken har jeg været mest skuffet over den absolutte mangel på empati og kundebetjening i en så alvorlig personlig omstændighed. Jeg tror, at en god service også vises, når uforudsete opstår og forsøger at finde en fornuftig løsning. I mit tilfælde, jeg ikke fandt nogen forståelse eller vilje til at hjælpe."

"Check in was an awful experience, rooms whilst clean are mediocre. Location is awful; middle of nowhere, literally on a train track (woken by trains daily from 5am which continued well past 11pm. No fans or aircon so only air is with a window open, which means you hear the trains. Pool is absolutely freezing. It was certainly not worth what we paid for. Sure maybe one night if getting a flight but we stayed 4."

"Hotel is fine but the apartments... everything is dirty. Walls, beds even the toilet. I don't even know if they know about cleaning here. It's really disappointing for 750€ for 3 nights. Mould everywhere and it really makes me sick. Staff is nice so hence the 1 star hotel really can't if I had the option to stay here for free I would reject that."

"Highly recommended hotel. We had a double room with an exterior view. It was very cozy, with modern decor and located just two blocks from the center. It's an uphill climb, but there are escalators that take you down to the hotel. Best of all, the breakfast was very complete and varied. I would definitely stay again, and the staff at reception were very friendly."

"We were happy with our stay at Hotel Citrea and it was convenient for the town and rail/bus stations. The room was well styled and designed and the shower was excellent. Our twin bedded room had 2’6” beds so these felt a bit small but the bedding was good. We had a kettle, cups & tea tray in the room. 2 chairs and table made it comfortable. Sound proofing wasn’t the best but still good value, The staff gave very good customer service."

"This was, without question, one of the worst hotel experiences our family has ever had. We booked two nights but checked out after only a few hours because staying there was simply impossible. The air conditioning was completely broken throughout the entire hotel, not just in our room. During the middle of summer, this is completely unacceptable, especially for a hotel charging premium prices. The rooms were extremely small, outdated, worn out, and nowhere near the standard you would expect for the price. The hotel desperately needs a full renovation. What disappointed us even more was the complete lack of customer service. The hotel manager, Barbera, showed absolutely no interest in helping us or finding any solution. There was no empathy, no apology, no compensation, and no effort whatsoever to resolve the situation, despite the fact that we were a family traveling with children. We were simply left to find another hotel on our own. Technical problems can happen at any hotel. What separates a good hotel from a bad one is how management handles those problems. In this case, the management failed completely. Charging guests full price for rooms without functioning air conditioning while offering no meaningful assistance is unacceptable. We strongly advise future guests to look elsewhere. We will never return, and we certainly cannot recommend this hotel."

"The apartment has a good size. Comfortable beds and large bathroom. Maybe you need a renovation of some furniture, already quite exhausted. The refrigerator was very noisy, which was noticed especially at night. The hotel is located 100 metres from the 2ª beach of El Sardinero and with a good restaurant offer in the surroundings. Well communicated with the city centre thanks to public transport, with stop in Plaza Italia."

"I recently stayed here with my sister, such a great apartment in a beautiful location with a wonderful host, Raul. We were checked in quickly and shown our apartment, lovely, clean and spacious too. All of the amenities were in the apartment, it's a great location very close to the beach. We didn't drive during this trip, it's very easily accessible with public transport. We loved our stay and hope to return soon!"

"Convenient location near almost everything. The absolute cleanest hostel I've ever been. Great bunks, sturdy, with privacy and a good mattress. Not too big and nice common areas. They even thought about a place to hang your clothes after swimming or a hand wash. The staff girl didn't have her day when checking in. But she stayed professional and gave everyone a small tour to show the facilities."
