"We had a lovely little weekend here. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a lovely boutique feel. Our room was cosy, clean, the bed was so comfortable and we had all the amenities you'd expect. Breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and all home cooked fresh. We didn't sample dinner as we were booked into a private restaurant but im sure we would have been pleased. The owner, Gavin, was helpful and informative and lovely to chat to. We would definitely visit again! Thank you for a great weekend!"

"My friend and I stayed in a twin room and paid over £80 for just a room only. On check in my friend almost got charged again for the booking when she was asked to scan her card. It was only for the bank knowing there was a pending payment already for the transaction it did not allow it to go through. The room was basic and we had to share a bathroom. If you want sleep you won’t get it here as the pub has music going on after 12pm. ( The earplugs on the dressing table was a giveaway) ! All I can I say was thank goodness for Weatherspoons for breakfast. We also found out that Weatherspoons had rooms for less than we paid. If you want a hostel style stay with no breakfast and no sleep this is your place. Also you may want to put a covering up at the shared bathroom window. Not very private if you are showering with the light on. !"

"Stayed 2 nights whilst visiting the area. Positives: well priced, well located, spacious room, tea and coffee facilities were good. Negatives: room layout a bit odd, with a bath in front of the window and a wet room that had seen better days. The locks on the doors are pretty poor. In fact the room door wouldn’t lock very easily and the closing arm needed adjusting, the fire door at the top of the stairs was unnecessarily heavy, the front door required slamming to shut and the front gate was a pain. So entry and exit wasn’t a pleasant experience. The shampoo and conditioner didn’t work, there was no shower gel. Overall the place has the potential to be very good, but it feels in need of a bit of tlc."

"Clean facility with a pub and a kitchen for guests to prepare or store their own food. They advertised breakfast as well as dinner but I didn’t see either. No front desk so I was directed to call ahead but I never got an answer or confirmation that I would be met to get my room. The bartender in the pub below apparently is the person who gets you access as this is what happened to me. One shared bathroom for all rooms, I believe, though this wasn’t an issue."
