"The hotel itself was fine, aside from the lack of bottled water, luggage racks, and absolutely no toiletries – everything else was normal. However, their parking lot is a huge problem. Firstly, guests aren't told in advance that parking requires a reservation. Secondly, I'm not sure if their drop-off point is only for disabled people or what, but there's a 'no entry' sign at what looks like a drop-off entrance. Thirdly, even if you don't have a reservation and the car park is fully booked, the gate will still open. But if you don't pay 60 pounds, the car park attendant will make it difficult for you to leave, even if the hotel reception has already entered your license plate to give you 1 or 4 hours free and told you to move your car to an open-air car park about a 15-minute walk away. In the end, several guests were in the same situation, blocking the car park exit. The first guest had to go back to the hotel to grab a receptionist and bring them to the car park entrance to negotiate with the car park staff for half an hour before they finally opened the gate and let people leave."

"My family drove us straight from the Lake District to the hotel, as we had a flight back to Shanghai at around 11 AM the next day and didn't want the hassle, so we booked a hotel near the airport. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to the airport for £3 per adult. The room was reasonably spacious, but the sofa bed was uncomfortable and felt unstable. The mattress was very soft. There was no air conditioning in the room, but a fan was provided. Breakfast was decent and included the usual English options."
