"What a great location. By the sea. A hotel with a beautiful garden / kitchen garden. When you invest time in research and reviews, plus the hotels own ethos and guide, it is always a gamble if the reality matches the words. There is no doubting the hotel and staff philosophy to offer a unique opportunity to get away from it all and live off the land. Sadly the experience did not match our expectations. The reserved room with a garden view was not as booked. Our first offering a corner room with no outlook or balcony. Claustrophobic actually. The only other room a view at the back of the hotel. With a balcony. But not inspiring. Unfortunately overlooking a service road with delivery trucks at 4am. The rooms are kitted out well in a modern style. But the bed and pillow are as hard as nails. Really uncomfortable. The staff are friendly enough but there is no feeling of being treated personally. Breakfast was horrendous and expensive. Canteen food at best. The cooked scrambled eggs pre-heated and burnt. Coffee from machine. This was our first encounter on the food side. Not obviously part of the eco local produce from the farm! The restaurant menu and food actual merit the philosophy of the hotel. But it's not a relaxed atmosphere. The staff form a barrier. Waiting to be taken to your table. You don't feel like a guest. More a walk-in. And that's the problem. Although there is an attempt to make the hotel relaxed it all feels a bit edgy. If you want a drink from the bar forget it. Very limited choice available from the restaurant. The saving grace is a new maitre d. He admits to the hotel requiring more attention to detail. The saving grace being the garden and ability to order from the restaurant. Drinks but no bar menu. We graciously accepted a really nice plate of cheese and bread rustled up from the kitchen at the end of a long day. Our last night of ten was a near disaster. As a guest we could not reserve a table for dinner due to the ecosystem allowing only for a finite number of meals as the "picked for the day" menu had limited availability. After an almighty row we eventually got a table. And that's the problem. There is no information or communication with the guests. Or enquiries as to our wishes for the day. It's a fairly new hotel so I am hopeful it will improve. You cannot hide behind a eco friendly philosophy without putting the guests first. I am still angry I had to make such a issue of booking a table."

"We spent one night in this hotel slightly outside the town center (but a 10 minute walk to get to the canal) during our trip to the Atlantic coast: we were welcomed with courtesy, our triple room was quite comfortable, very clean, with a small balcony at the back. The internal private parking is very convenient. Price lower than the locality average in high season, a good hotel for stays in the area."

Alt for varmt til en måned november, varmen bevarer sig godt. Vi var meget velkommen, ejeren har endda rådgivet os til vores balader i dagen. Frugt er ekstraordinær. Vi har tilbudt os en spa session, perfekt til virkelig dekomprimere. Det var et meget godt tidspunkt af afslapning, jeg virkelig råde. Bravo for din modtagelse og din professionalisme."
