Knockendarroch Hotel

"The location of the hotel is not the most accessible especially if you do not drive, we were lucky to get a taxi to the train station. The hotel is located in a heritage building so there are no lifts, it is recommended to travel light. What we enjoyed most is our time at the lounge as it is relaxing in front of the fireplace. The balcony rooms also come with a great view of the charming town."

Loch Rannoch Highland Club

"We had a really poor experience here. We booked a one bedroom lodge for 3 nights at premium price for a nice break. On arrival we found the one bedroom was nothing more than a converted cupboard containing bunk beds and the other bed was a sofa bed. Checking our booking it is mentioned but very well hidden in the small print. There were many other issues with the lodge. The balcony and outside areas are badly in need of a paint and tidy. There were stains on the curtains, the carpet didn't even go to the wall at one place. There were dirty dishes in the cupboard, a big stain in the bath and the shower pressure was terrible. Worse were two health and safety issues first the ladder to the top bunk bed had no way of securing it to climb it. Second the towel rail, which when on is scorching hot, is located right beside the toilet so anyone sitting on the toilet is in serious danger of burns to their leg. We lasted two of the three nights one on the sofa bed that left me tired and with a cricked neck and the second on the bunk bed mattresses on the floor that left my partner with a sore back. We payed top price for this "lodge" which turned out to be a bedsit in need of a good outside paint, clean and health and safety assessment."

Tayview Lodges

"My husband and I had a lovely 2 night stay at Tayview Lodge no 2. It was clean and comfy. Everything in the kitchen available to use for cooking etc. Milk in the fridge with tea bags, coffee sachets and sugar to use as well. Very quiet area near Pitlochry with lovely views. Very nice and big decking area but unfortunately because of the weather, we were unable to sit out! We would recommend the lodge. It is quite compact but that was not an issue for us."

"Dette var en meget blandet oplevelse, da de gør så meget her.Vores Dee-loge var uskyldigt ren og havde alt, hvad vi havde brug for praktisk, selv en vaskemaskine!Vi kunne strømme tv uden problemer, der er god WiFi og generel telefondækning. Kærlig i kunstværket, og vending på det twinklede træ stue lys gjorde det føle sig magisk.Glad udsigt over bakkerne. Men - og det er en stor, men - sengen var ikke behagelig, jeg måtte sove på sofaen del af tiden (en første for mig som en almindelig rejsende).Vi sluttede med at forlade en dag tidligt på grund af dette. Meget høje skrøbelige gulvbrætter i soveværelset og badeværelset, især omkring toilettet, har brug for at fastsætte ASAP.Indtil dette sker, bør denne kabine kun lejes til enkeltpersoner eller til dem, der kan sove gennem noget. Jeg håber, at disse områder kan fastsættes, og ejerne fortjener at være vellykkede."

Birchwood Pitlochry

"What has happened with this hotel?? We have a pre paid booking (a gift) for two nights mid October and have just received a generic email saying goodbye to customers etc. The website is no longer active either so I guess that's them closed. No courtesy email/call to let customers know what's happening, unbelievable."

The Inn on the Tay

"5/5 This was by far the nicest place we stayed travelling around the highlands. Our dog friendly room looked onto the River Tay and we could watch Kayakers tackling the river. Staff very attentive, food was a level above what we'd experience in more expensive hotels, finally got fruit at breakfast! Lovely walks and views all around"

The Inn at Loch Tummel

"The Inn at Loch Tummel is located on the roadside overlooking the loch. It has fabulous views across the loch and surrounding hills especially in the beautiful weather we had. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was very good. We slept well in the comfortable bed. There are no tvs in the hotel. We ate breakfast (twice) and dinner (once). Breakfast was very good and dinner was good. Our choice at dinner was restricted by lack of availability. Service all round was good and all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. We would go back."

Port Na Craig Inn

"A lovely stay with an upgrade to a cottage, all quickly and efficiently arranged. This was a trip in honour of an annual expedition for my late wife Caroline and I to the Pitlochry area for autumn. Caroline always wanted to stay in the lovely cottages so it was fate and her sparkle that helped with the upgrade. Food is incredible and a wide selection of choices along with fantastic, friendly service and drinks. Very good to eat and sit by the river in warmer times. Terrific breakfast too. The cottage was spacious and kept warm. Very comfy. They are not new so you must allow for some quirky spaces and layouts. It was lovely to have that space to relax. Port Na Craig is a 10/15m walk from the town over the suspension bridge or the dam. It's a beautiful walk but be careful near water. Pitlochry is a beautiful town that Caroline and I have enjoyed for years and I'll continue to honour her by visiting. Thanks to the Port Na Craig team for making me so welcome and for the prosecco for toasting Caroline. Much appreciated."
