"There’s nothing that really stands out about this hotel… except for the young man at reception who efficiently, politely and promptly dealt with my problem with the room safe and then a problem with a blocked loo. (The latter requiring a room move to one just along the corridor. He was great! Other than that it’s a hotel that does the job of receiving, feeding and sending guests on their way with a minimum of fuss. We ate out on the first evening and in the restaurant the second. Food was fine as was breakfast. No idea how it compares with others in time… good enough for me"

"We can’t say enough good things about this family run guest house. We got in touch with them because we wanted help arranging tours to the Plain of Jars, bomb craters, and the Hmong and Spoon villages. But especially because we needed help getting to Long Thien, the former secret CIA airbase which used to be the world’s busiest airport during the Vietnam war with a flight taking off every 8 minutes. It’s usually only visited by motorcyclists as the roads are so bad, but Mr. Abay and his father agreed to drive us in a comfortable Toyota Hilux from their guesthouse all the way to Vientiane via Long Thien and Xaysomboun. (We are glad to have made the trip, but would recommend driving from Phonsanvan to Long Thien and back and then flying or driving to Vientiane on better roads rather than attempt Long Thien to Vientiane.) They both drive very safely and Mr. Abay knows a lot about the Plain of Jars and gives good tours. Mr. Abay even took the trouble to personally check out the guesthouse we had asked him to book for us in Long Thien and familiarize himself on where our hotel in Vientiane was. He really went the extra mile for us. The family guest house is spotlessly clean with good hot water and WIFI. It’s quiet and the rooms are spacious with a comfortable bed. The room rate includes breakfast which is freshly cooked and has fresh fruits. Mr. Abay is scrupulously honest and the rates he charges are very fair. You won’t find a better base for a visit to the Plain of Jars and Long Thien (Long Chen)."

"Pukyo er en 5-room B&B ledet af David, der er en meget venlig og hjælpsom vært.Vi har et værelse på gulvet, der var fremragende for min mand, der ikke går godt, lad os gå op ad trappen alene. Det var et stort familieværelse med en kongelig dobbeltseng og 2 singler.Der er et badeværelse med en meget god varmevandsvarmer. Badeværelsetsgulv bliver våd og slipper efter bruseren, men der er en anti-slip mat og Daivd ved om det problem, han vil reparere i sommer.Luftkonditioneringen er meget kraftfuld, og der er også en væg fan som en mulighed. Der er også en lille TV, men vi brugte den ikke.B&B er omkring 4 minutter fra lufthavnen og mindre end 10 fra byen.David tager dig til byen til middag i hans komfortabel bil og venter på dig. Han købte middag tilbage til os den anden nat, da min mand var for træt til at gå ud.Der er et køleskab opbevaret med øl og drikkevarer og en vanddistributør i boligen. Vi havde vidunderlige samtaler med David, der er en stor kilde til viden og følte, at vi boede med en ven snarere end en kommerciel indkvartering. Der er mosquitoer om aftenen, men David sælger citrongrass -scented repellent for 11,000LAK - meget effektiv også til udendørs turer. David har et udendørs plads bagved, og det er et meget fredeligt og behageligt sted for morgenmad eller en øl ved solnedgang.Vi nydte vores tid med David grundigt."

"The hotel has a lovely location, with view over small farms and houses to the hills beyond. It is a motel style hotel, semidetached chalet style rooms & suites. Our suite was clean & had lounge, balcony (to watch the sunset), bedroom with a large kingsize bed, tea area & ensuite shower room. Our stay was very pleasant, sad it was only for one night. Breakfast was included (the baguettes were excellent) & the hotel has an evening restaurant, where we enjoyed three Lao dishes, steamed rice and BeerLao. Lovely staff, pleased to help with any request."
