"the location is convenient with Aeon supermarket and restaurants nearby. hotel room is large and clean. Though the hotel design is kind of conventional old hotel, I would accept that given its price , room size and location. the best part of the hotel is the view, overlooking the Lake Biwa. If you can manage to wake up early, you are able to see the sunrise from your room. breakfast is unexpectedly good. Not to mention about the nice lake view from the restaurant, the variety and quality of food is good. highly recommended for its value for money."

"We appreciated that the hotel provides complimentary pick-up and drop-off service to the nearest subway station between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm. Breakfast is served in traditional Japanese style, featuring rice, grilled fish, eggs, and some vegetables. Coffee is not included and must be purchased separately from the hotel’s café. Bedroom: The tatami mats felt slightly dusty, possibly because the room had been vacant for a few days after the last cleaning. There was also a strand of hair on one of the pillows when I lifted the duvet 😅. Although the room was ready, the hotel does not allow check-in before 3:00 pm. Check-out time is 10:00 am, which is earlier compared to many other hotels. We were charged an additional ¥4,000 for a late check-out at 11:00 am (extension of an hour). The in-room onsen was excellent, the water flow was strong and hot enough for cold weather. The bathroom mirror was also spotless. The hotel was quite empty during our stay, so it would be appreciated if management could be more flexible and allow early check-in when rooms are already ready. The check-out time should also be extended to the standard 11:00 am. Not allowing early check-in while also enforcing an early check-out time does not seem very favorable for guests."

"It was my first time staying in an orthodox townhouse, and I was pleasantly surprised. The house is very unique. The hostel lady can't speak Chinese, but she kept communicating with a translator. The breakfast set meal is delicious. If you come to stay, you must order breakfast in advance. There is also a vinyl player in the living room, which is very nostalgic and sentimental. Otsu is really a very quiet town. On the last day of 2024, I spent a very peaceful day here."
