"The hotel's location is great, very close to the Central Station. From our room, we could see the Munch Museum and the theater, both just a short walk away. It was also about a 15-minute walk to the pier, the National Museum, and the Royal Palace in Oslo. If you want to take the tram, there's a stop just a few dozen meters from the hotel. It's self-check-in and self-check-out, with computers and other facilities for self-service near the elevator. We didn't see any staff during our entire stay. For double rooms, the odd-numbered ones were smaller, and the even-numbered ones were larger (my memory of which numbers were which is a bit blurry, but there was definitely a size difference between rooms on opposite sides of the hallway). The only issue was that we booked with breakfast included, but the hotel doesn't have a restaurant and therefore doesn't provide breakfast. After contacting Trip.com customer service, a small refund for the breakfast cost resolved the matter."

"We recently stayed at the Anker Hotel for a family vacation and had a bit of a mixed experience. On the positive side, the location is fantastic, making it very convenient for getting around and exploring. However, there were several areas that fell short of our expectations for a comfortable family stay: Despite traveling as a family, we were placed in two separate rooms on entirely different floors, which made coordinating things a bit challenging. We were disappointed to find no complimentary water, coffee, or tea provided in the room, a standard touch that would have added much-appreciated comfort after a day out. The washrooms were uncomfortably small, and the provided toiletries were very limited. While the central location is a strong selling point, the overall lack of in-room amenities and disjointed room placement left us a bit disappointed. With a few adjustments, this could easily be a much more welcoming spot for families."

"Everything else was good, but the sink in the room was leaking from the drain pipe joint, causing water to spill onto the floor. I informed the front desk, and they said they didn't have the tools to fix it, so they gave me a small bucket to catch the water. The next day, when I came back, the bucket was gone. I thought it had been fixed, but when I used the sink again, it was still leaking the same way. I had no choice but to put the trash can under it to catch the water."

"Even though it's an older hotel, it's really good. The service is excellent, and both the front desk and breakfast staff are very friendly. The rooms are quite spacious, and the best part is that the bathroom is separated from the bed by a wall, so you can't hear the exhaust fan. They use L'Occitane toiletries. The breakfast is very generous, with a good selection of hot dishes, which is rare to find in Europe. The location is super convenient, just a 3-minute walk from the main street. Highly recommend it; I would definitely choose this hotel again."
