"Used this as an overnight stop during a cycling adventure. The rooms are basic, but the essentials are all there and the bed was very comfortable. It’s located next to a service area with a Burger King, Greggs, and a well-stocked petrol station shop. Expect a little road noise given the location, but it wasn't a dealbreaker."

"Vi opholdt os her i 3 dage for vores fødselsdag.Det var et ekstremt smukt hotel i smukke haver i hjertet af Devonshire landsbyen, der daterede tilbage til Domesday-bogen.Det blev fuldstændig renoveret sidste år til en meget høj standard. Maden var fantastisk og morgenmad udmærket med så meget valg.Vores soveværelse var enormt med en moderne fire plakatseng og et meget smukt badeværelse.Sengen var så komfortabel og pølser som at sove på en sky. Det var så fredeligt med udsigter fra soveværelset oversigt over landskabet.Personalet var usædvanligt behageligt, meget hjælpsomt og de passede så godt på kostkrav. Vi troede, priserne var meget rimelige i betragtning af beliggenheden og hotellet selv og madstandarden.Vi vil helt sikkert besøge det igen og helt sikkert anbefale det."

"Not as good as remembered from previous stay hotel wise but bar restaurant good and believe a lot of the reviews that are very mixed do cover most points as there are still some lovely elements but a few points from me if I may! Beautiful location and surroundings and due to its age you will expect low ceilings quirky layout and a bit of a chill in parts especially this time of year However I agree that if it is cold and heating should be able to be controlled in rooms which are large and in the dark in our room 4 quite treacherous to move from bedroom to bathroom! Luckily we had a spare bed so our daughter could have an extra duvet from other bed but it was chilly in night as well as no tv in one end of room so had daughter in with us for bit to watch! She seemed miles away ! If you are looking for a lie in then not the best place as you can hear talking in other rooms, also every move made and the plumbing is so loud we likened to an aircraft taking off ! Bar and restaurant staff lovely and food we chose was really good - met chef who was very nice as well! Would probably prefer to eat in bar as more cosy Finally found out breakfast changed to very minimal cereal fruit and yoghurt which was a shame so didn’t bother as prefer cooked! Overall we had a lovely evening with family but the rooms not as good considering paid £170 with no breakfast - it would be better in summer but maybe even more!"
