Riverside Hotel

"Myself and my other half booked a two-night stay with Riverside Hotel and were located at Aspland House, Aspland Street. In advance of the first night stay, communication was very good. Any questions I had were answered promptly. Parking permit was dealt with swiftly as well. Unfortunately, on entry to the accommodation itself , (room 9 at Aspland House), we were quickly concerned as to the quality of the facilities. We were met immediately by an unpleasant smell as soon as we entered the room. A very deep musty smell, and that of stale cigarette smoke. This smell had also permeated the linen on the bed and the towels provided. There is staining to the sink and toilet. The shower is very mouldy and the bathroom overall smells of stagnant water. This is quite possibly due to insufficient moisture extraction from the extractor fan. Towards the end of the stay, we looked to turn on the TV, only to find out there were no batteries in the remote. This did not provide us with a pleasant experience at all. After a very long drive from Yorkshire to Norwich, it was not the nicest start. We could not afford to stay anywhere else, so had no choice but to stick to the room. It is unacceptable for anyone to pay good money to stay and sleep in such unacceptable conditions."

George Hotel, Signature Collection

"I stayed at The George Hotel in Norwich for a quick overnight stop and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Although I booked a super cheap deal for a single room, I was given a double room which was warm and comfortable. The location is easy to reach and it's about a 15 minute walk to the big shopping area in Norwich. The hotel staff were really attentive and friendly during check in and check out, they certainly made me feel very welcome and I wouldn't mind staying at The George Hotel again. They have an onsite restaurant called The Arlington Bistro which I would like to try as I didn't have a meal there during my stay. In summary, I can definitely recommend this nice, friendly hotel for everyone."

"We were very surprised when we arrived. Not exactly knowing where we would be. Outside places to eat & drink. Very impressed that the prem inn had parking and no charged for your stay. Full marks come & go. A bus stop across the road 15mins straight into Norwich city. A pleasant prem inn with friendly staff a good breakfast 😋 to start your day. We will be returning. The Cookes."
