"Stayed in room 26 last night ( 17th July ) and woke up this with bites / stings on my arms and legs. Made reception aware this morning so hopefully this will be addressed. Regularly stay in hotels through work and have done for the last 4 years this is by far the worst stay and experience I have had. Avoid this place if at all possible ."

"It's ok. Rooms are very small. Shower was good wofi ok. Bed very comfortable Noise carries a little in the rooms. Breakfast was continental. Nice coffee but choice was bland with food They want you out by 10 in the morning so be aware."

Westone Manor Hotel

"A large part of the hotel is clearly ringfenced for emergency council accommodation. Arriving at the hotel car park it was obvious that the photos taken for the hotel website were carefully selected. Anyone seeing a more representative selection of photos before booking would not do so. The hotel is over 100 years old and looks/feels every day of it. The entire hotel smells of aged dust, throughout. A portion of the hotel has a strong smell of ****. The hotel is labyrinthine and easy to get lost in multiple times. The food is not of a good standard, while also being expensive. There was a sticky substance on one of the chairs in the room and more on the floor. The flooring throughout the hotel is aged floorboards that creak loudly when you stand, sit or walk anywhere. When booking in it was insisted that I present a bank or credit card for 'incidentals'. I challenged this and was told without the card details the hotel would not satisfy the booking. This being in spite of my company paying for the booking on my behalf. I have never encountered this before in years of business travel. I've cancelled the card in question and requested a new one. The soundproofing between rooms is non-existent. The flatulent noises from the adjacent room were clearly audible, as was every cough, discussion, TV and door being slammed in the section section of the hotel I was staying in - which continued throughout the night. The hot water in the room was tepid at best and not sufficiently hot for a shower - which didn't matter since the shower sprayed water all over the room when turned on and so wasn't usable. After a maximum of four hours of sleep I left the hotel at 05:30 in the morning when I'd originally intended to do so at 07:45. A couple of the staff I encountered were helpful and pleasant."
