"We stayed at Mountain Lodges of Nepal – Namche twice during our Everest Base Camp trek — once on the ascent and again on the descent — and both times it felt like coming home in the mountains. The lodge perfectly balances comfort and tradition, offering all the modern amenities you could want at this altitude — from heated beds and hot showers to a cozy lounge area perfect for relaxing with tea after a long day of hiking. What really stood out was the staff’s warmth and efficiency. They remembered us from our first stay and greeted us like old friends the second time around. I even got laundry done at a very reasonable price, which was such a treat during the trek! The meals were consistently great, with generous portions and beautifully presented dishes, and the dining room had such a welcoming vibe. Namche is a bustling stop on the trail, but this lodge gave us a peaceful and comfortable haven both times we stayed. "The clean rooms and bedding, the view from the rooms and the dining room, the good food and coffee, and the hospitality of Ang and her husband make this a place I just have to visit again! Himalayan Lodge is perfectly located centrally, but at the same time just above the hustle and bustle of the city centre. The first time I stayed here was in 2022. That experience almost made me run to Namche Bazaar from Lukla in 2023 to secure yet another night at Himalayan Lodge. I am impressed by how much information Ang manages to keep track of while also being present to all of us who visit the place. Love the place!"
