APA Hotel and Resort Joetsu Myoko

"The uphill climb to the hotel, which felt like a private road, was too long. I couldn't easily stop at a convenience store to buy anything extra because it's a secluded house deep in the mountains. There is a shop, but it's expensive. My room was on the 11th floor with a nice view and the window opened a little. It was old, but you could tell they put a lot of effort into the renovation. The bed and pillows were too soft, so I couldn't sleep on my back. The good points were the spacious sauna and the good selection at the buffet. The hot spring, which I was looking forward to the most, was tasteless and odorless, and it was a shame that golfers also came to wash off their sweat. I got a 50% discount with the Hokuriku discount, but I don't think I want to come back."

Akakura Wakui Hotel

"The traditional Japanese-style rooms are spacious and clean, and there's also a public bath. The spring water here is clear with some sediment. I would definitely choose to stay here again."

Hotel Taiko, Akakura Onsen

"Vi nydte vores ophold på Hotel Taiko grundigt.Det er bekvemt beliggende nær skilifterne og hovedst.Personalet er velkommen, og altid nyttigt.Vores suite (værelse 7/11) var enorm for to personer, og udsigterne var fantastiske. Buffet morgenmad tilbød en stor vifte af japansk og vestlig mad."

Beliggenhed er stor; hotellet er på Main Street i Akakura Onsen.Ladninger af forskellige restauranter og barer lige på gaden + en bekvem butik.5-10 minutters gang til Akakura Onsen skiområde.15-20 minutters gang til Kanko ski resort. Og busser, der fører dig til andre ski resorts og Myoko-Kogen station.Tørringsrum til alle dine ski/snowboard-udstyr.Stor hotel ✨"

"VERY large and spacious room (twin room) for Japan! Approximately a 10minute walk to akakura kanko resort and 15 to akakura onsen. The toilets were clean and ample for shared toilets and the showers were warm and good pressure - although the shower hose on the wall wouldn’t sit comfortably so it was a hand held shower. Breakfast was ok, however if I was paying for it I would have been so disappointed ! Very minimal. Having read previous reviews I was expecting amazing service however the service received was quite average. We were originally meant to get there at 8:30pm by train, at 8pm I called and told them we will now get there at 10pm. They said ok see you tomorrow morning, breakfast at 7:30. I asked how we were to get to the place and they said taxi (mind you myoko Kogen train station is a ghost town). They then said breakfast at 7:30 see you then. I asked what room were in, how we get in etc and there was a huge language barrier (just kept responding with see you tomorrow) . The person ended up coming to the station (to our surprise) then said they had been waiting there for 2 hours despite us having called at 8pm and spoken to them specifically. A lot of confusion. They did drop each guest off at the resort of their choice each morning as well as to the train or bus station at the end of their stay, this was a nice touch which is common and needed for myoko."
