"Terrible stay. We couldn't sleep because of loud music and noise coming from downstairs with children shouting. Early morning the staff were moving the chairs and tables, which we could listen very loudly from our room. As they knew that they were going to have a function They should gave us another room instead of the one which were offered, our intention of the stay was to relax not hearing every possible noise during the night till early morning!! I complained with the reception about the situation and she was sorry but she said she could't do nothing because she is an employee. It was the worst stay in the past 10 years that we have been visiting this hotel for many times over the years. No form of compensation was offered as a gesture of this very unpleasant stay. Hope the new management will take action on this."

"I spent three weeks on vacation with my friends, three couples, and it was our third consecutive year at the Modica Beach Resort. Three weeks of pure well-being: always clean and well-maintained chalet rooms, excellent food, a perfect beach with a small, well-run bar, and discreet and respectful entertainment at all times, especially for those of us with gray hair! The staff is truly commendable; they are all courteous and always available and attentive. We left the resort with a strong desire to return as soon as possible...and for that...THANK YOU!"

"A new hotel located on a Blue Flag beach providing all you need for a great break whether for a weekend or a week which is what we stayed for. Everything was spotless with an on-site spa, pool, and attached beach club with sun beds both in the grounds and on the beach itself. Without exception the service from the attentive staff was excellent with the star being Valentina. We had an issue with our hire car which I was having difficulty in resolving not least because of my lack of Italian but Valentina became involved and took it upon herself to sort the issue out which she did. This involved multiple phone calls and a deal of patience on her side but she was brilliant. She also ensured we were able to get back to Catania airport at the end of our stay as the hire car was not returned to us."

I'm sorry to give a negative review, which contradicts most of the reviews you've read and which we'd trusted. All the dishes were meager (in paltry quantities, in fact, gourmet), mediocrely prepared, lacking in taste and elegance, with "original" table settings featuring paper placemats and misplaced cutlery... that's what you get from a modest trattoria. The worst was seeing slices of meat being carried into the kitchen with bare hands for preparation. If you want to elevate your service to match your prices, you still have a lot of work to do, perhaps starting with greater attention to accessibility for the disabled."

"B&B very nice and comfortable clean room with new furnishings. We were only one night but we found ourselves very good for the distance from the center. The very available and nice breakfast owner made us find hot cornets just swallowed. The last thing not least important was to forget a room ring that the owner found and returned Most Advisable!!!"

"I picked this hotel because of its reasonable price and its central location, about a 10-minute walk from the train station, and a 10-minute walk to the bus station in the opposite direction. I liked it. It's on a small street just off Piazza Matteotti. You have to climb a flight of stairs to get to the reception area (there's a light switch to your right inside the door). There was another flight of stairs up to my very comfortable and modern room. This hotel has a hipster ambiance, but don't let that deter you if you are, like me, an older independent traveler. (I had an amusing conversation with the owner when I asked him to point out the bus station on a map he provided, and he told me where a travel office was so I could book an excursion. I told him that I just wanted to take a regional bus to Ragusa, Scicli and other local towns, and I thought to myself, "Do I look that old?") He and the staffers were pleasant and very helpful, giving me advice about sights to see and places to eat. Don't expect to always see someone in the reception area. If you don't plan to check in during the regular time (between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.), make sure you let them know. They may charge extra for that. The location is excellent, right off the main street in Modica and very walkable to many of its best attractions and also best places to eat, including the focacceria of Don Puglisi (which, unfortunately, was closed for vacation when I was there)."
