"If you are looking for an authentic stay in Mahon then Can Alberti provides a retreat into a former time but with all the modern day facilities of a boutique hotel. An original Menorcan Town House situated in the heart of the city, yet a quiet street with no noisy neighbours. One of the key credentials for this hotel is its attempt to minimise its carbon footprint and use of recycled materials throughout the hotel. This is impressive and to be commended! Breakfast offers guests a chance to sample some of the local produce from its buffet table and tea/coffee/snacks are available to guests throughout the day on a help yourself basis. An honesty bar is also available with wine and beers on offer, as well as room refreshments. Owners and staff make guests feel welcomed and whilst not quite a round the clock reception service, are there to help with anything you need to enhance your stay in the city. A highly recommended establishment with high quality standards - not open all year, but a long spring/summer/autumn season provides guests with plenty of time choices to enjoy this hotel and its city environments. "We booked 2 nights at the beginning of our tour of Menorca and 2 nights at the end at this hotel! On arrival we were greeted by Marina who was lovely, she was very informative and attentive! She told us we had been designated room 6 for both our stays! The reception area was very decorative and charming with the original old wall! Marina showed us the rooftop, it all looked like it needed work doing too it, not well maintained or clean looking! On entering our room 6, it was modern but not done to a high standard it was a bit tacky! It was very scruffy, and the shower was disgusting! The bed was comfortable and the bed linen was pristine! So we decided to stay! As we were returning we didn’t approach the reception with our issues, just in case we couldn’t get another hotel when we were due to return! That was our mistake, we should have stated it was not what we expected from a 4 Star Hotel! Breakfast was just ok, no toast just rolls! Very limited selection, to a handful of berries and a small plate of cheese and ham & small plate of fresh fruit! The smallest selection I have ever seen! Coffee was very good, extra hot milk, no problem! No replenishing of items so be early! Once we had left the Hotel and moved to our next destination, we knew we could not return to the Sindic for our last two nights, the difference in the 4 star hotel we were at could not be compared to the Sindic! So I emailed the Sindic, stating why we could not return on our last 2 nights, with photos asking for a full refund! I received an email stating that I should have said I wasn’t happy, at the time! I fully agree with that, but due to the dirty shower I felt this unreasonable! They chose not too make a comment on the photos and said they would refund 1 night!! So they accepted there was issues but still were too tight to give us a full refund! There are so many lovely hotels in Mahon that we stayed at, I would advise you to give this one a miss!"

"Lovely hotel with very helpful & friendly staff, particularly Sylvia on reception, Diego, Antonina, Cleo & all bar staff. The rooms are clean & well serviced daily. The food, buffet style, was plentiful & tasty,(a second chef to cook different egg choices at breakfast would have helped the solo one who was rushed off his feet). The pool area is lovely with plenty of sunbeds & a large patio area for drinking/dining if required. Thank you for a lovely stay."
