"While this place is technically a bed & breakfast, it was certainly appreciated that we were not forced to do bed-and-breakfast activities. In fact, we were not even asked to; the experience was more like staying in a hotel. The spa area was surprisingly charming, and the entire establishment was clean. It was a little bit difficult to navigate how to get in, which is just through the café doors in the front, and the only thing I would suggest, is to add mini fridges to the rooms."

Hampton Inn by Hilton St Ignace Lakefront Mackinac ★★

"I did not want to have to write this review, however I have contacted both this hotel and Hilton corporate and did not receive any response, which is completely unacceptable given the circumstances. There was a major safety issue that occurred during our recent stay at the Hampton Inn St Ignace Lakefront Mackinac on 7/18/2025. There was a section of our carpet that was ripped and unsecured. Below the ripped carpet, there were a number of exposed nails. Unfortunately, during our stay, my wife unknowingly stepped on this area and punctured her foot. We will had to seek medical attention. It was not only painful and distressing, but it seriously disrupted our travel, especially given the reason for our stay was to attend a funeral. We have stayed at many Hilton properties and choose Hilton for consistent quality and high standards. However, this experience has left us deeply disappointed and concerned for future guests in that room (209). We now know this isnt being taken seriously and I would be surprised if they inspect the room and fixed the issue."

"Can view the lake but the beach is not so good,didn’t try to swim there. The bedding is clean,didn’t smell bad at all. Hot water and showers pressure is good. For the price it’s a good deal."

"October 21 - 24. We visited the Wayside again this year and nothing changed...... Still immaculate, well maintained, within walking distance of the Shepler ferry to Mackinac Island and the owners of the Wayside are exactly as I remembered from last year; hospitable, kind, considerate and just great people. I assure you, you will experience an unforgettable and much appreciated stay at the Wayside."
