"This is my second stay at Backpacker's, and Lijiang Backpacker's is still lively, but the facilities are a bit old and not well-maintained. The cleanliness of room A24 was a bit subpar. However, what really stood out was the excellent service at the front desk. Big Wang (Dawang) deserves a high rating; he was great at engaging with guests, playing Werewolf with us, chatting, and recommending nearby food. It was a very good experience overall."

"Our family of 4 stayed with Sister Su in late June. She welcomed us with oranges and tea service and helped us settle in with a mixture of English and we chat translation. Sister Su was friendly and helpful from start to finish of our stay. Her fairly priced Naxi style courtyard minsu was so charming from the courtyard with it's tables and swing chair to the excellent two story loft we stayed in. The all wooden house was secure, cozy, quiet, offered a lot of privacy between rooms, was airy in the daytime and warm at night, and really felt like home. We loved the loft as it gave us all some privacy as a group when we needed it. The separated toilet and very functional shower, divided by a sink, were excellent and allowed for multiple people to use the facilities at once. One thing we loved about this residence was it's close proximity to the Old City, without the complication of being IN the old city (where cars cannot enter). This allowed for easy access to taxis and tour vehicles. The residence also sits very near a series of delicious economical restaurants that offered all of the main Yunnan favorites. We would stay here again if we have the chance."

"Five stars out of five! The location of this guesthouse is absolutely superb, just a few minutes' walk from the West Gate of the Old Town, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. You can take bus 101 to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and there are tons of restaurants and snacks nearby, so you won't have to worry about food. The rooms were spotless, and all the basic amenities were provided. The owner was incredibly welcoming, and there's free parking in the courtyard, making it perfect for those with a car. Overall, a fantastic stay, I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Lijiang!"

"I heard this hotel was built by the municipal government, so the service was really perfunctory. It felt like they were taking advantage of guests because it's a big establishment. The room was also quite old and rundown. We were three people staying in a quadruple room, and the price included four breakfasts. On our last day, when we asked for one extra breakfast to go, they refused. The staff even claimed breakfast was complimentary, which we didn't believe – it was clearly included in the room rate! Unlike other hotels, the overall experience felt very disingenuous."

The location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to the Old Town's Waterwheel, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. They didn't charge extra for breakfast for either of my kids, and the breakfast spread was varied and delicious – such thoughtful service. The room was clean and spacious, the environment was great, and the staff were warm and attentive. It's definitely my top choice for traveling with children, highly recommended!"

"The location of Shannian Hotel is absolutely superb, right next to Lijiang Old Town. It’s only a 5-10 minute walk from the main city road, so lugging suitcases isn't too much of a pain. Plus, the hotel has its own parking, which is very convenient for those driving. It's also near Amand. The butler proactively helped us with our luggage, and the service was very attentive. The hotel is nestled halfway up the mountain, and our room's window faced Jade Dragon Snow Mountain directly. On a clear day, sipping a drink in the room while watching the sunset over the snowy peaks was incredibly therapeutic. It's about a 15-minute walk to the bustling Sifang Street, and you get to wander through the old town and browse small shops along the way – the pace is just perfect. I have to give a special shout-out to the butler team here; they are genuine and warm Naxi people who made us feel truly welcome. The butler even gave my son a small couplet written in Dongba script, which he loved – it was such a thoughtful and personal gift. The breakfast selection is a bit simple and could be improved, but the free freshly ground coffee in the morning was a pleasant surprise; the beans were excellent quality. My only minor suggestion would be to have the coffee available for the entire breakfast duration (which starts at 8 AM), as many people like to have coffee with their meal. Overall, it's about a 30-40 minute drive from the airport, and spending three days and two nights here to relax and unwind was far more enjoyable than visiting many popular destinations. It's definitely a place I'd love to return to."

"Traveling to Lijiang with my partner, this hotel left a great impression on us; it was excellent value for money. The location is superb, within walking distance of Lijiang Old Town. During the day, we explored the old town's streets and alleys and enjoyed the canals, and in the evening, after admiring the old town's night view, we took a leisurely stroll back to the hotel – the pace was just perfect. As we were driving, parking was a top priority for us. The hotel has its own dedicated parking lot, which is convenient and free, saving us the hassle of expensive and scarce parking spots outside the old town. As an established four-star hotel, the facilities are complete and well-maintained. The room had great natural light, and the hot water was consistent. The public areas were clean and tidy, and the accompanying lounge/tea area was perfect for relaxing. The hotel staff were warm and attentive; they even discreetly recommended less crowded spots in the old town for photos. Check-in and check-out were efficient and smooth, and room cleaning was very thorough. Overall, it was quiet, comfortable, and conveniently located, making it ideal for couples on a Lijiang getaway."
