"Amazing place to stay in Lamu! The rooms are big and very clean, the public sitting areas are beautiful and perfect to enjoy the cool breeze at the evening overlooking the town. The breakfast ist superb and sufficient - every day fresh fruits, juices and pancakes or omeletts. All the things worth seeing in Lamu as well as all the shops are in walking distance. For me most importanly: I really loved the spirit of this place! The best of all is the Host - he helps amazingly friendly with everything: booking trips, explaining ways to go to the beaches and information over the prises, pcr tests, booking flights, exchanging money, just everything! He organises free of cost pick up from the airport. He also gives a lot of useful information over all the good and important restaurants and cafes in Lamu with tips where they serve alcohol and where you can enjoy a vegetarian meal."

"We are regulars to Lamu and to Lamu House. However, our latests visit to the hotel has left us with a sour taste. It seems the new hotel management are more focused on cost saving measures and cutting corners - than on costumer care. For example, the food has gone down hill but prices have gone up a lot; the wifi doesn’t work around the hotel and now you’re only allowed one hour of internet in the restaurant even if you’re a resident. This’s to encourage people to consume drinks and food. The service is not as good as it used to be - orders were incorrect or late; staff seemed demoralised and unhappy with the new set up. Overall, it was a disappointing experience at the legendary Lamu House. "

"We had such a good stay here. The views are wonderful, the rooms are so comfortable and the staff are excellent. We had great trips on the House dhow - the sundowner and the day trip to a beautiful beach. We also had a very good guided tour of Lamu town. The staff are amazing. They did a musical evening for us, and all came down to the beach to say goodbye as we left. This is absolutely the lace to stay on Lamu"
