"We have just left a wonderful weekend stay at Compston house B&B. Our hosts were absolutely fantastic, welcoming and the breakfasts were really yummy and great quality and all needs wrre catered for including the provision of gluten free bread. Our room was spotlessly clean and cosy with every amenity thought of. Parking was made super easy. We will definitely be back!! Thank you for a wonderful weekend of exploring, great food and much needed relaxation. Perfect Central location for anyone's needs. Thank you!"

"Absolutely love it here. It’s such a good location for loads of walks, swims or just relaxing. The staff are friendly. It’s clean. There’s lots of facilities. They’re obviously improving things too with more storage for self catering. We stayed a night camping and a night in the dorm room. Ideal location for a walk up to easedale tarn or into abide via rydal. Of course will be back again very soon."

The Traveller's Rest

"We used the travellers inn as we wanted to see the grisdale tarn and we needed to a room to stay after the sight. They allowed us to store our luggage at the inn as our check in was at 3pm. The rooms were clean and it overlooked a farm area with lots of sheep. The room had an aesthetic look and there was tea satchets we could have as well. The staff were kind and wonderful. The rooms had the britain charm you see in old english movies. If you love sheeps, kind people, good food and 80's british aesthetics- then this place is just for you. We loved our stay here."

"Stor hotel med en anstændig beliggenhed midt i sødistriktet.Du kan gå/cykle til Ambleside, der er fem kilometer væk.Lave fald er let at gå for store udsigter over området omkring. Hotellet er mere som et privat hus med værelser.Vi har en lille suite med soveværelse, badeværelse og stue.Vi kunne bare se søen fra stuen. Badeværelset har kun et badeværelse og ingen bruser hoved, der var en vanskelighed at vaske hår.Bortset fra, at det var meget velorganiseret. Breakfast var på en nærliggende pub.Den gode sport.Det var et begrænset udvalg på menuen: fuld engelsk, morgenmadsruller, brød eller porridge.Du fik også 10% til middag i pubben."
