"On arrival I was greeted with staff who looked and acted fed up, they could see I was disabled and used a walking stick, no one offered to open the door to the rooms which was very heavy. Once through said door I was hit with the most disgusting smell and spoke to the poor couple who's bathroom it was coming from. They told me they'd reported it but was only offered the room next door which also smelled. The carpet in the corridor to the rooms was disgusting covered in stains. I only ate there 1 night as the food was microwaved and obviously bought in precooked, the walls were covered in marks which could've done with a lick of paint. Outside the hotel was littered with cigarette butt's. Staff never smiled and always looked and acted like they were fed up and obviously couldn't even to pretend to enjoy their jobs and always made me feel like I was bothering them. I know Kendal and know this hotel is relatively new but you'd never know it. After recently staying in a Premier Inn in Glasgow I was shocked at the difference. It may be a so called budget hotel but they certainly don't have budget prices. "

After the party we stayed in carus house and I must say it was 10 out of 10. I want to say thank you to Margarita who helped every step of the was and thanks to Shelly and Sarah for helping us organise the room and thanks to all the girls in the office"

"What a fabulous gem of a B&B. Glynis was so lovely, warm and welcoming and let me check in a few hours early which was really welcome. The room was lovely with loads of snacks and goodies and even an Easter Egg! The breakfast was brilliant. An amazing selection of fresh fruit followed by a delicious full English which was freshly cooked and very tasty. The location is perfect, 5 min walk from the town centre. Glynis was super helpful when advising me about the best places to go and she was spot on with everything. I will definitely return.b"

"Family run establishment in a rural location, and nothing is too much trouble for staff there. Our room was spotless and very comfortable, and the food was very well presented and cooked. Very laid back atmosphere, and nice to have a chat with the family who own and run the premises. The Punch Bowl is very highly recommended, for those who appreciate genuine hospitality and friendly service. Something that is a rare find these days."

"We arrived here for Sunday lunch ! A bad mistake . If we hadn't chose the beef ,there was an extra charge of. £ 2.50 for a Yorkshire pudding on chicken or lamb !! Given the cost of. £ 16, 95 for the main course , which consisted of the meat , mashed potatoes , cabbage accompanied by a luke warm jelly gravy . No roast potatoes , cold plates , poor quality , A child's. fish + chips with NO fish content unless paste, greasy, inedible . Drinks on top , premium prics . Tatty surroundings . Our worst Sunday lunch ever . Your only plus is your staff . !! "
