"This retreat is a magical place. The most beautiful view one could wish for in Pokhara. It takes roughly 30 minutes to arrive by car from either the airport or bus stop. The view of Himalayas with gorgeous sunset and sunrise is the reason we chose to stay here. We spent 4 days 3 nights here and we were blessed with breathtaking views. One particular day was fully clouded so it really depends on luck. Stay longer! The rooms get pretty cold in December and luckily they are equipped with heater. I think the bed is just okay, definitely could replace with better ones. The shower takes a awhile to heat up and that's okay but i think they should add a tray to place toiletries for easier shower. The room also need more hooks or a wardrobe to better hang our clothes. The retreat also has a little garden where they plant vegetables. I love going up there to see what they plant. There is a short hike down the retreat to reach a look out point and the world peace pagoda. The restaurant serves good breakfast. Though i wish they could serve all items at once instead of coming out 1 by 1. The dinner menu is slightly expensive and there are some hits and misses. I would recommend the jhol momo, thakali set, pork chilli, chicken manchurian. I think the soup options are way too overpriced for the portion. Lastly, i would like to commend on all staffs here for the exceptional service and hospitality. We even got a small gift that came with Nepali ritual i believe as a blessing. All the best to the team and continue to make this place better."

"We stayed in Young’s Stupa hotel during our birdwatching trip in Nepal. It is located close to the Begnas lake in a semi-rural area not far from Pokhara. The rooms were clean, water in shower was warm, wifi was working, breakfasts were fine and the one-man staff was always kind and helpful. If you don’t mind some stairs, ask for a room at the third floor. You will have access to a large terrace with great views of the surrounding countryside. Even some casual birdwatching can be done from the terrace. Admitedly, the hotel seems to remember better times, but its price makes it a bargain worth enjoying."
