📍 P97F+GC7, 56 Old Buswang Rd, Kalibo, Kalibo

"It was the worst, the worst. The ceiling was made of steel plates like a shipping container, and moisture accumulated and water dripped down. And it dripped all night long on my head as I lay on the bed. I couldn't sleep because the water kept dripping. Why are all the hotels in the Philippines like this? I live and travel around Southeast Asia, and the hotels in the Philippines are truly the worst. The worst."

LAVERO SUITES ★★★

📍 Archbishop Gabriel M. Reyes Street, Barangay Poblacion, Aklan, Kalibo

"I wanted to love this hotel but it just wasn't quite up to my expectations. I like that the facility was new & even offered a small pool to cool down in. However, the internet service was spotty which made it difficult to work remotely. I often feel a bit spoiled when traveling in the Philippines, your luggage is portered & the staff opens the doors for you. The staff was friendly but didn't really go the extra mile to make us feel wanted & welcome. Often, the receptionists would barely look up from their phones when we were coming & going. The room was clean but for a new facility, it seems to be quickly showing some wear & tear. There is not a restaurant within the hotel but there are quite a few food options nearby."
