But right outside the hotel door, there’s a BBQ restaurant which was great. Stay if you want proximity to the airport not if you want to go out for the night."

"Hospitality and service were good, but my room (6211) smelled of smoke even though I requested a non-smoking room, and there were even “no smoking” signs in the hallway and room itself. The staff couldn’t change my room for me because the hotel was fully booked that night, so she offered to spray some air freshener in the room. Sleeping in that room was almost unbearable but since I only had to stay 1 night, so I endured. There were a decent variety at the hotel breakfast, serving Chinese cuisine such as porridge, fried rice with a few side dishes, steamed buns, sweet potatoes, yoghurt, coffee and tea."

They even promptly contacted me and mailed back an item I left behind in the room. It's really great. Jinan is a city where the bustling areas and the local, down-to-earth vibes are quite distinctly separated, with a strong sense of local life. Most importantly, the prices are very reasonable, with no obvious premium, which is fantastic. I'll definitely be back!"

"I went to Jinan just to see a play. It happened to be the May Day holiday, so I couldn't check in early. I was really at a loss early in the morning, not knowing where to go. It would have been better if the front desk had offered some suggestions at the time. Everything else was great: the facilities, the location, and the food delivery robot – it was such a luxury not having to go downstairs or to a locker to pick up my takeout. Housekeeping by Lixia was very thorough, thank you. The only thing I didn't like was the breakfast. I won't go into details, but it was just a very uncomfortable eating experience. I didn't arrive right at the end; it was almost 10 AM when I went, but I constantly felt rushed. As a solo diner, my food was cleared before I even finished eating if I wasn't paying attention. The same thing happened the next day, even though I deliberately went very early. I just turned to get a drink, and they almost took my food again. I ended up leaving after less than 15 minutes. Also, I was told there was afternoon tea when I checked in, which was a nice surprise, but the selection wasn't very wide."

"All the staff were excellent, polite, and provided attentive service. Although the breakfast selection wasn't huge, everything tasted great, especially the pancakes – they were a delightful surprise and absolutely delicious. The only downside was the hairdryer. The airflow was so weak it was almost useless, and the plug was so loose I had to hold it in place. This is really poor for a five-star hotel; they should definitely consider replacing them, even a hairdryer costing just a hundred yuan would be a huge improvement. Overall, it was still a very good stay."

"Renovation started before 8 AM (renovation is prohibited all day Saturday and Sunday; the so-called manager said, "Isn't this a reasonable renovation time? Check it more carefully!"). Oh, and girls on their period have to bring a small mattress pad to put on the bed, and they charge a cleaning fee. Soundproofing is practically nonexistent; they just hang things up for cleaning and don't actually clean. There's no access control in the elevator; delivery people can come and go freely. It's a newly opened place, so imperfections are understandable. Slightly increase your budget; stay at the Hanting Hotel nearby, it's not that much difference of 100 meters."
