"We had the most wonderful 2-night stay at The Thinnai Jaffna to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it truly exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt excellent — warm, cozy, and inviting, with a spacious and beautifully appointed suite that was perfect for unwinding and spending quality time together. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the authentic Jaffna cuisine. Every meal was a delight, bursting with rich flavors and traditional touches. The Executive Chef and the incredibly attentive Saranya took such good care of us at Amudham and Rokeerththanan and Tharunram at the bar. The team clearly puts heart into everything they do. What made our anniversary truly memorable was the thoughtful and creative surprise the team arranged in our suite. It was such a beautiful, personal gesture that showed real care and effort — we were genuinely touched. A very special thanks to Roshanth, the General Manager, who looked after us exceptionally well right from the beginning. His warmth and attention to detail made us feel like valued guests throughout our stay. We left feeling completely refreshed and pampered. The Thinnai Jaffna is a true gem in Jaffna — we highly recommend it and can’t wait to return!"

"Et par gode ting at nævne er, at værelserne havde to dobbeltsenge, hvilket betød, at der var rigelig plads til en familie at bo. Værelset og badeværelset var ret rene bortset fra spindelvæv overalt på de øvre vægge og loftet. Der var varmt vand på vores værelse, men en af mine venner, der boede i et tilstødende værelse, havde ikke en vandvarmer, så det ville være klogt at tjekke, inden man overnatter. Det har en ret god beliggenhed i forhold til byen, og der er parkering på hotellets område til ens køretøj. Der var noget høj musik spillet til lidt sent på aftenen. Alt i alt et gennemsnitligt ophold, men vi prøver måske et nyt sted næste gang, vi besøger Jaffna."

The menu is extensive and very varied. The front of house waiting staff are also well trained and polite. I would rate this restaurant as OUTSTANDING. "The location is excellent as its walking distance to the train station, bus stand and shops. The atmosphere is very budget type. Considering its pricing its definitely a budget hotel and should be reviewed as such too. For a budget hotel they gave us a very clean room and a clean bathroom. The fittings are a bit old. It had hot water but never used it because of the high temperatures in Jaffna. I think its value for what they offer. Do not book with breakfast because you are at their mercy at what is provided. I thought the breakfast was below par. Service and the staff are excellent. Nice, friendly, and accommodating. The pictures are from a long time back. The place looked a bit run down. We did not mind as we spent most of the time sight seeing and only came to sleep. For that purpose this was great."

"Dear Green Grass Hotel Management, It is with sadness I am writing this about your hotel. I came to Jaffna after 40 years and the experience was not great . I stayed for two nights in Room No 107. I tried so many ways to contact the hotel but my issues are still not answered. They never responded to email i sent and also my calls are unanswered. 1: I was wrongly charged for a meal that I never had (Rs 1804.00). Sent many emails and tried to call but no so far response. 2: I had torn towels left in the room-Refer attached photo. When I took the room the towels left was in that condition (TORN). When asked for replacement, i was give two sets of fresh towels but both were in poor condition. I suggest the hotel to change all the towels. 3: Internet was not working in my room. After few complains, they gave a connection to my room via a router (WIFI in the room was not working) 4: There was no power point near the table for the kettle-this is a minor issue."
