"Lovely place in a great location, with very friendly and welcoming staff. I thought it was very reasonably priced for the quality of accommodation. It has a warm and traditional chalet feel and was spotlessly clean at all times. We were a group of three, 1 adult, 2 teenage boys (16 and 18) and stayed in a triple room (room 21). The room was nicely decorated, the 3 single beds were comfortable, the bathroom was a decent size, the shower was powerful and always hot. Our room didn't have a balcony, as not every room does, but this didn't bother us particularly. It was a South-facing room, and the view was superb. Breakfast - continental with high quality breads, pastries, cheeses, meats, eggs, cereal, quiche and tarts. Perfect. Wifi - free, not quite up to streaming, but fine for everything else. Ski and boot storage - plenty room in the ski room accessed from outside. Boot room with dryers/warmers accessible from reception. Nearby - 3 ski rental shops within a few meters of the hotel, loads of restaurants and bars within a very short walk. Ski access - bucket lift across the road which takes you to the bottom of the pistes. You can ski back to the hotel, but it's pretty flat so not much good on a snowboard! Criticisms - nothing of note. The room was too hot on the first night, even with the radiator switched off. Open the window in the evening and it's fine, as long as there is no-one singing on the street in the early hours! If I return to Alpe d'Huez, I'll probably go back to this hotel."

"Very well located aparthotel and good reception the very big problem in this hotel is the cleaning we had 3 rooms and the first day in the family room cleaning was not done and in the other 2 they were missing towels and toilet paper and the 2nd day cleaning was not done at all at 6 p.m. we had to go and complain to reception so that they come and do the cleaning not very practical with young children who needed to rest"

"The hotel has a very nice atmosphere, tasteful decor and friendly staff. The food in the restaurant is of top quality, with the breakfast buffet having a wide range of options and the evening meals were delicious and presented well. One thing to note is the evening menu is the same every night with only 2 of each starter, main and dessert to chose from, apart from some specials that do change every day. The location is right in the centre of town, perfect for shops and restaurants however, is a 10 minute walk to the nearest gondola to take you to the slopes (which can be a pain in ski boots and carrying your skis!). There is a free shuttle bus that goes from the nearby ice rink to the slopes but unfortunately we never timed this right. The rooms are very clean and the bathroom is perfect. The only downside is that the beds are quite firm, and for us quite uncomfortable, and during the night, the roads below are full of loud drunks returning from the nearby bars which have woken us up multiple times. All in all, we had a wonderful stay in the Royal Ours Blanc and would recommend it to a friend, keeping in mind the pros and cons of the location."

"Arrival at 15:30 to get my room reservation for 16h. I had to raise the tone at 17:30 because I still had no room. Seeing the floor room in the hall of my room, faced with the lifts was not worthy of a 4-star. The entrance of the hotel is not open, full of snow and smoke on the ground or cracked on the top of the hotel's letter box."

"Stayed here early Feb, and this hotel is fantastic. We had a Quadruple room which was spacious and comfy with a balcony. The staff are super helpful and friendly and the breakfast was great. For skiing it couldn't be any more conveniently located. The lobster cage lift is 100m away which takes you to the base of the slopes and you can ski back to around the same distance from the back door! Would recommend to anyone, and will most certainly be back!"

"Amazing location, can't fault the views. Can sit on the balcony and watch the slopes in the Bergers area. Small quiet dated hotel that wouldn't normally be any sort of 'party hub', so don't come here if you want late night drinking fun! The rooms are adequate, but the beds are small singles. The hot water doesn't get turned on until past 4pm, so if you finish skiing early and want a hot shower - good luck! It's pretty clean, no complaints there. Service is hit and miss, we often had issues with our door cards not working, and found it hard to locate staff to sort out the problem. Food is where the main problem for us was... it's not very nice!! Breakfast was just about passable, but it's very basic. Often not a lot of choice, and other guests take what little is put out, and the staff never top up anything - if it's gone, it's gone... same applies to the juices and the coffee making facilities. Dinner is simply disgusting! It's cold, tasteless, and often reused from the previous days. There is no choice, it's always a set menu, that is sometimes on display in the reception area, or you have to ask in order to decide to stay in or go out for dinner. I'm sure a child can cook/come up with better foods. You'd think they would learn by how much guests must waste. I would say slightly expensive for what they offer, but the location is definitely the selling point."

"Not a good experience at this hotel, although it’s close to the slopes that doesn’t make up for the poor quality. Plates and cutlery are not cleaned properly has led to myself and as far as I am aware 8 other people unwell with food poisoning which the hotel then denied and said they can’t do anything about. One of the two lifts was out of service the entire week, and what they say is on the menu, is served differently. I will not be staying here again."
