Hotel Hovborg Kro ★★★

"Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were so lovely and coped really well with the only Brits staying here. The room was really clean but for us the bed was on the firm side. Ample free parking in front of the hotel. Quite a large hotel considering it was in what seemed to be a small village. The thatched roofed pub next door is owned by the same family and although a limited menu there was plenty of choice and the food was delicious. Hubby had the schnitzel, make sure you have not eaten for days if hoping to tackle this one, a pretty large meal. I was recommended one of the two fish dishes which was to die for if you like fresh, well cooked fish. It consisted of a piece of beautifully lightly battered fish, a piece of plane white fish, a piece of salmon, a large portion of prawns with a Marie Rose sauce on top of a slice of toasted granary type bread, lettuce, watercress, asparagus and a sour cream…..think that was everything….so delicious. We were also recommended one of their imported Italian white wines which was very nice and of course a jug of local fresh tap water. We could not manage a desert but kept seeing them being paraded to other tables and they looked equally lovely. We stayed here on a very hot evening so was very pleasant to sit outside to dine. Had requested an upper floor room so as we could open the windows for the fresh air, I think this is the best bet if you stay here on the odd day that it is very hot. Breakfast was very good, lots of fresh tasty produce. Would highlyrecommend a stay with meal here."
