"On the edge of Homer Town, pay attention to the short check-in time and almost missed it. The extreme day is still bright, the older hotel is still bright, but the internal organs are complete. "Unique place to stay (the railroad car) has stunning views of the bay. I could have stayed on the deck all night if it wasn’t raining. It was a bit run down though. I think a little updates to the furniture and bedding would be good. A bit pricey, but you can’t beat the view from the bedroom window."

"I can’t say enough about The Lighthouse!!! Our room was spacious and clean and fully equipped. The deck and outdoor areas had the most beautiful views… Plenty of places to spread out and have privacy. We ate dinner out on the deck one night and sat in the Jacuzzi and enjoyed the view twice! The bed is incredibly comfortable with nice linens and heated bathroom floors. Everyone was so nice. Liz and Josh made sure that we had everything we needed. If we ever find ourselves back in Homer, this is definitely where we will stay."

"Low score due to lack of transparency. Nice place, but it's essentially at an airport for sea planes, A charter air service operates about 150 feet from the cabin! We knew we were in trouble when we walked in and there were ear plugs on the kitchen island (seriously!) Very early every morning the planes start departing. They woke us up from a sound sleep because they're so close that it sound like they're flying right through the cabin. Had this been disclosed, we would have never stayed there. There are also some very high windows without shades, so the cabin gets very bright, very early."

"På Homers lille by, bemærkelsesværdig check-in i meget kort tid, glemte næsten ikke at bo.Det er meget sent, så det er stadig lyst, det gamle hotel, men de fem er fulde.Byen er virkelig meget komfortabel, der er et papir på receptionen, der anbefaler den lille restaurant, der er hængende på den, og der er mange meddelelser!"

"The view from my room faces the ocean but the location at the end of Homer Spit isn’t exactly the best place to be because it takes 15mins walk to get to the centre where eateries, shops and ferries are located especially if you’re like me having to carry camera equipment. Taxi services tend to be slow at peak hours. Housekeeping is not efficient and needs to be reminded despite hanging the card out. Cups are not washed and bed is not made unless the card in the room(no card was placed in my room)is completed which was the excuse they gave. This happened for 5x out of my 9 nights where the other 4, I opted for no disturbance . Breakfast is buffet style but limited selection. My stay was over 9 nights. I have to return for another 3 nights on organised tour group. I informed receptionist upon checkout to put me in the same room. The answer is NO. The level of service at front desk and housekeeping needs improvement except for a special lady, Lena who is exceptionally friendly and helpful. All in all, there is no value for money."

"This was a great hotel to stay at! It had a walking trail on property leading to Bishop Beach. I spend days and hours walking along the beach. The large suite itself had a kitchen which made it convenient to eat at the hotel. It is right across the street from a grocery store and an easy walk to many restaurants. I'd stay here again in my next trip to Homer, Alaska!"

"We spent 4 days there for our 60th wedding anniversary in February. Everyone there went out of their way to make this a very special trip for us. They put a bouquet of flowers, a bottle of champagne and some chocolate covered strawberries in our cabin while we were in town. A special thanks to Larry who did this for us. "Staff were very friendly and available to greet us when we arrived and throughout the 3 night stay. Very helpful in setting up activities (highly recommend Beluga Air for a flightseeing trip!) The Lux suite had plenty of room, a great jetted tub and large shower, was beautifully laid out and had nice amenities (plates and bowls, silverware, nice cups and wine glasses, microwave, mini-fridge, etc.) The giant king bed was fully adjustable and very comfortable with really nice sheets. Spa is right outside the sliding door but curtains provide plenty of privacy and nice view of the bay when you want. All in all, a great experience for our 25th anniversary and would highly recommend to others!"
