"The staff were very helpful, accommodated me on everything (Im deaf) single room queen size bed, clean bathroom, had everything i needed to prepare for my marathon. Can leave your bags with them and they will give you # chips to return and pick up your bags later which is what I did after I finished my marathon and returned to the hotel. Then I went back to tokyo but im thinking I should've gotten one more night in hitachi because the city is beautiful and the food is good.only 2 photos were taken from inside my hotel room facing out the big building and the sumo on tv."

"The hotel room was an orthodox Japanese-style room. It was well-cleaned. For dinner, we had monkfish hotpot in the restaurant in the separate building. As you would expect from authentic monkfish, it was delicious. The young proprietress gave us a concise explanation of the different parts of the fish, and prepared them efficiently, which made the meal even more delicious. The next day's breakfast was a sumptuous one, complete with ozoni (traditional Japanese soup), as it was New Year's Day. I would definitely like to return if I have the opportunity."

"Although the facilities are old, the rooms are perfectly cleaned. The linens are pure white, the rental yukatas are crisp and well-sewn, and there's no trace of the old-fashioned smell that's common in business hotels. The large public bath and sauna are larger than I expected, and the amenities are plentiful. The breakfast salad is fresh, with a wide variety of side dishes. The front desk and breakfast staff were very friendly, and I had a pleasant stay. If I ever go to Hitachi again, I'd like to stay here again."

"We booked this hotel for a nearby tournament. It was very large and spacious, with its own public bath on the third floor. We booked a Japanese-style room. The view from the window was of the sea and the harbor. There were also several tennis courts downstairs, but play ended around 9:30 pm. We left very early the next day, and the hotel had staff available to handle check-out. The parking lot was large. It was a great spot to watch the sunrise."

"There is no elevator, so carrying our luggage up to the third floor and going up and down the stairs to the breakfast area on the basement floor were a bit tough. The breakfast was light and good for an elderly couple, but we thought there were not many vegetables. There were a variety of shampoos in the amenity corner, and it was fun to try the silicone shampoo and conditioner, which I had never purchased before, even though it was a little pricey. It made my hair soft and smooth, which I was happy about. The staff were very friendly, and their Ibaraki dialect was great. Next time, I'd like to try the bar in the basement!"
