"The hotel facilities are indeed a bit old. The first room we were given had inconsistent hot and cold water, making it impossible to shower. We had to buy a basin for takeout to mix water to a suitable temperature for our child's bath. We initially considered changing hotels, but after reporting the issue to the front desk the next day, they moved us to a different room, and we didn't have that problem anymore. After staying a few days, I can say the service is truly excellent; they accommodate every request. We ended up extending our stay for several more days."

"This veteran five-star hotel truly lives up to its reputation. The location is superb, offering unbeatable river views from the window. The hardware clearly shows its past glory, and the overall atmosphere is excellent, making for a super comfortable night's sleep. The front desk lady during check-in was exceptionally kind (I even wrote down her employee ID, but accidentally washed the paper). She was so nice and patient. On a cold day, the duty manager arranged for heating and pork rib soup. When I needed to switch rooms, a tall, handsome guy in a red uniform, about 1.89 meters tall, helped me move all my belongings – I'm incredibly grateful. The staff outside the lobby entrance provided excellent service, opening car doors and handling luggage. Simply fantastic!"

"For my trip to Harbin, the location of this Qiuguo Hotel was absolutely perfect – I highly recommend it to anyone visiting! The hotel is right near Central Street, just a few minutes' walk to this famous old street. It's incredibly convenient whether you want to explore European architecture during the day, catch street performances in the evening, or enjoy a Modern Ice Cream or Russian meal at night. No need for constant taxi rides, which saves a lot of time. Willing to take a stroll along the Songhua River? It's also very close; you can feel the river breeze with a short walk after dinner. St. Sophia Cathedral is also within easy reach, so you can head there early in the morning for photos and beat the tour groups. The hotel is surrounded by convenience stores and restaurants, making it easy to grab snacks or breakfast. Despite being in a bustling commercial area, the hotel itself is very quiet, so you won't be disturbed by street noise. Getting around is also a breeze; taxis are readily available, and public transport stops are not far, so hauling luggage back and forth isn't a chore. The rooms are clean and tidy, with all essential facilities, providing a great place to rest after a day of sightseeing. The staff are attentive and proactively offer tips on local attractions. Overall, my stay was excellent. For tourists focused on sightseeing, this location is a huge plus – being right next to key attractions saves so much travel time. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Harbin and recommend it to all fellow travelers!"

"The hotel's location is quite good, within walking distance to Saint Sophia Cathedral and Central Street. Daoli Market is also nearby, just a few minutes' walk away – a real hidden gem of a market. Perhaps due to the peak tourist season, the front desk service was just so-so, though one front desk staff member was quite enthusiastic. We booked a twin room and got upgraded to a family room, and they also assigned us a room close to the elevator as requested, which was very satisfactory. Overall, the room cleanliness was acceptable, but the details could use some improvement. Ordering takeout was convenient, with robots delivering the food. The housekeeping auntie was very friendly and even helped us dispose of our takeout trash. The hotel breakfast taste was just average."

Service was good, but it helps to know Chinese to communicate with the front desk. Room was kept clean, but didn't like that they charged for tissues. Breakfast hours should be a little longer than just two hours, but the people working the food service were very friendly."

The location is fantastic, right in the Chinese Baroque Historic District, so you can easily explore just by stepping outside. The hotel has a lot of character as it's housed in a historic building, and the service was wonderful. We'll definitely book your place again on our next trip to Harbin!"
