"The most delightful stop on our entire trip! The hotel's interior and exterior decor were incredibly stylish. We even saw monkeys and elephants by the pool! Dinner was a delicious and varied buffet. Breakfast could be packed to go, which was a lovely and thoughtful touch. After dinner, we saw the Milky Way, and the next day we went on a safari at sunrise."

"Where do I start .. we were allocated this hotel by our driver we had booked a private trip with. When we arrived we were placed in the nearest room to the reception so not too far to walk to anything. Our lock on the actual door was loose and not very secure but obviously only noticed it when we went to lock it to go to dinner. The safe / locker was broken and they brought us a new one within 5 minutes ok but if someone wanted to take it ?? Just carry it out again not secured to anything. So we decided to shower for evening meal and didn't realise that the shutters were actually see through if you wanted to look in and considering we were the first room we had about 8 rooms passing us. The room was dark dingy and dirty, broken furniture on the balcony dirty walls and damp showing In the bathroom Bare wires hanging randomly from the walls and drips stained walls from the air con. No spoon provided to make your cup of tea I had to use a pen from my bag. Shower was very shy of a good scrubbing and the cupboard door was thick with dust . Food was cold or tepid not hot and everyone followed in a queue like a wedding buffet. We was told there was a bar in the dining area there was a fridge with beer in it and closed when dining was over at 9.30pm there is nowhere to walk as it was so compact in and nothing outside. We resorted to an early night with a couple of cocktails from a very enthusiastic Vihahga. His talents are wasted here as everyone just wondered to their room from their meal as there was nothing other to do than watch TV that then brings me to another problem the tv was snowing and off channel not just one all channels so it was difficult to watch. So early night it was to be woken at midnight by rowdy young lads on our floor banging and trying to get in our room remember we didn't have a secure lock on our door. So didn't sleep very well worried it would happen again. 5 am arrives and guess what a bunch of the same lads all singing laughing whistling and banging doors like it was mid afternoon all heading for reception which was a spit from our room so my husband gets dressed to speak to reception and no there are no staff on over night they start at 6am. I always review positives rarely negatives but I have no idea in my head how this is a 5 star hotel it's dirty damaged and has no facilities to warrant a 5star the dining room manager couldn't apologise enough it's not his place to have to apologise its the overall manager but he didn't understand enough english to apologise and I had socks older than him. We were suposed to check out and have a 2nd day of trips but we decided to go straight back to the comfort of our hotel and the cleanliness of our room there. The sad thing is if we had known this is where we would have spent the night we would be looking at the beautiful pictures on trip advisor thinking how gorgeous and clean it looks but don't be fooled these pictures are years old and struggling to wonder why the reviews are not"

"Minimalistic hotel rooms well located off Silent Beach in Tangalle. Nice communal pool and a small amount of rooms makes the villa quite tranquil and never busy. The staff are wonderful and the chef cooks delicious food which is all very reasonably priced. I just recommend you stay away from beef in this country as it’s quite inedible, this seems a common theme whether you’re buying a cheap burger or an expensive beef dish. The only detractions to the accomodation was a foul odour emanating from the shower in the mornings, but it did dissipate thereafter. Also I find there is little point of an in-room safe if it isn’t bolted to the ground. You can literally walk in and pick the safe up and exit the room making it redundant. Rooms are well appointed and well priced for the area given the two luxury alternatives are the Amanwella resort which is quite dated and much more expensive and the Anantara Peace Haven which is more expensive but also a fantastic product. The local beach here is beautiful. I would stay here again, but I expect rooms will be hard to come by as the country lacks 5 star resorts at this time. I would stay here again no doubt and recommend the property."

"Stayed 1 night on half board basis. Very convenient location and just 10 min away from Yala National Park Palatupana main entrance. Quiet atmosphere with outdoor pool and spacious and cozy rooms. Food was tasty. Staff is attentive. Pool needs some attention though. We met the owner as well (Mr. Naveen) and he was a nice gentlemen. Good and convenient place if you plan Yala safaris. "

"I didn't expect to receive such excellent service from the hotel manager Mr Forseka and staffs. They cared for my needs and my partner's from the very beginning. They served us sincerely and provided a valuable experience for us. My room was nice and clean, and everything was under their control, making it very safe. We were given an unforgettable dinner in the middle of the forest with a campfire and romantic music. Everything was beyond my expectations. I will miss that place and that time. Thank you for creating a new story in my life."

"We had a really nice stay with Mahoora. We spent one night at Big Game and another night at Mahoora, and both were great in their own way. The Mahoora camp felt very spacious and comfortable, and overall the setup was really well done. One of the highlights for us was the safari. Our guide, Vimansha, was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about wildlife. He explained things in a simple and interesting way, which made the full-day safari much more enjoyable. You can tell he really enjoys what he does. Overall, it was a great experience with both Mahoora and Big Game, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone planning a safari in Sri Lanka."

"O2 Yala is out of this world. With complete respect to its natural surroundings, the villas are perched above the ground amongst the trees, and nature takes precedence. The restaurant uses natural ingredients that they make themselves, including their own honey and coconut milk, growing their own curry leaves and other flavourings. Sunil, Deshan and Hinuka took great pains to ensure that everything was just right. Suraj took us on an unforgettable buggy ride to the beach to see the wildlife, and the dunes, spotting birds, water buffalo and crocodiles on the way. He has so much knowledge about the flora and fauna of Yala. The resort is beautifully run by Mathawa and all his staff are a credit to him. Stay at the O2 resort in Yala, you won’t regret it."

"The hotel is located by the sea, away from the village. We really appreciated the peace and quietness of this place and the sustainable approach with which the hotel is run. Our room with an outdoor shower was perfect and the pool in the garden was delightful. All the staff took care of our well-being from the beginning to the end of our stay. A big thank you in particular to the employee (whose name we forgot to ask) who accompanied us to the top of the nearby hill of Ussangoda for a romantic picnic at sunset, but also to Lakshitha, who took great care of us at mealtimes and throughout the day, to the spa employee for her invigorating treatments, and to everyone who, in one way or another, made our stay unforgettable. The visit to the bird sanctuary at dawn made a particular impression on us, a fascinating experience with a guide (Anjulo?) who introduced us to around fifty species of birds. We highly recommend.. The internet connection is a bit slow. Swimming in the sea is not always possible due to waves and currents."

"We stayed two nights. From the moment we arrived until we departed we absolutely loved staying here! Our bags were swept away when we checked in, and we were shown to our room. Our room was adjacent to the swimming pool on the ground floor, and it was huge! It has a massive bathroom and a large TV in a sort of den off the side - not that we ever turned it on! We had dinner poolside, lots of options and something for everyone. We also thought it was reasonably priced, considering you are miles from anywhere. After dinner one of the staff did an evening walk around the substantial grounds spotting wildlife - who would have thought there was so much around, including crocodiles! We had our own safari organized, but you can easily do it through the hotel., They did give us food, cold water, and some snacks to take with us. On checkout day we had a sizeable and delicious breakfast - there are western and Sri Lankan options. We also had another swim and lunch before we left in the afternoon. Its an amazing boutique lodge where nothing is too much trouble and I think its extremely good value for money. We will definitely be back!"

Frue var pakket, da jeg gik ud.Erfaringen var meget god.Jeg kommer tilbage til Sri Lanka!"
