"I stayed here with a friend for 3 nights. We had 2 single rooms on the second floor, 22 and 24. We had a really good experience. The staff were warm and friendly and seemed to be a good team ( thanks particularly to Anna). The hotel was warm and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. Each room was plainly furnished and had tea making facilities, toiletries, hairdryer and even a box of tissues. This was more than expected for the price. The bathrooms are compact but have all you would expect. If you are a larger person, you may struggle. Some reviews had mentioned noise at this hotel. We stayed midweek and had rooms facing the back of the hotel. We had no trouble at all with noise despite the whole GroteMarkt hosting a fun fair during our stay! In fact, we were astonished to see so many fellow guests at breakfast as the hotel was so quiet at night! Others have mentioned the excellent breakfast but I will add that if you are gluten free and ask, the staff will bake gluten free rolls for you at breakfast and they were delicious. We also ate dinner at the Vester restaurant twice and it was sooo good! Overall we would certainly return here. Haarlem is delightful and we enjoyed the central position of the hotel."
