Beliggenheden er en særlig bonus, lige fra en travl gade og skridt væk fra bakker/kaffebutikker, en frugt- og grøntsagsbutikker og restauranter. Fra det øjeblik vi checkede ind til slutningen af vores ophold, var personalet altid let at nå og meget behageligt.Tak Carlos og Rita!"

"Pro's of staying: location; free parking if you could find a space, which at some hours could be a little hard; towels and breakfast very good. You order your bfast ahead of time and bring form to the kitchen. Breakfast is 8-10 so if you have a tour elsewhere or need to leave early...sorry, it is a hard 0800 start time. If you are 2 people, this is probably a fine place to stay - if you are coming with 3 adults...or more for one room - hmmm.... A teacher evidently owns this 6-room townhouse. I sent my information in ahead of time (first time I had to send all Passport info in ahead bc I NEVER SAW ANYONE IN HOUSE AS A GREETER other than the 2 ladies that are hired to work at bfast. Invisible Anna is another worker who sends all text communication. You will receive computer lock code to building in rooms. Fine. Let's talk about Room L - a loft room. Fine with windows open for light, but upstairs with just a bed and nightstands (no TV, no mirror, no room for a suitcase) is very dark. There are evidently 3/6 rooms can hold 3-4 people. I assume they all have the crap futon which my 6'2" son kept falling out of if he even moved slightly to left of futon. There is only 1 chair (which seat was cracked) in room so to watch the one TV, 2 of us had to sit on the edge of the futon which kept falling off. NO ONE EVER REACHED OUT or greeted us - on day of checkout I saw a *********** message from Anna asking how was our stay. There is NO MIRROR in room - so if someone is in bathroom, no mirror for make-up, etc. There is one tiny, tiny, TINY-er than European usual in toilet. No trashcan in rest of townhouse = not in communal kitchen or where you eat bfast. No fridge, but we just used the communal kitchen one. Hard pillows and only one pillow on the futon. 2 outlets in living area. NOW - the staircase. They knew we were 60 and son is almost 30, yet, Ana put us in this room with a log staircase - I will post a pic...very steep and narrow to bed. So - if you need bathroom in middle of night - bring your flashlight."

The Grove Houses

"Absolutely stellar stay at the Grove Houses! We were in Guimaraẽs over a rainy weekend, and ended up mostly staying at the property, it was so cozy. We booked a room in the main house, built in 1900, which is brimming with charm--beautiful woodwork, chandeliers, high ceilings, a turn-of-the-last century library and living room to enjoy, and amazing views of the four-acre garden setting from every window. There's also an annex which used to be the gardener's cottage--beautifully restored with a modern, relaxed style and superb finishes. We took a tour and would love to stay there, too! Our bed was super comfortable, with plump pillows and crisp sheets. The breakfast buffet was ample and tasty, with eggs made to order and loads of fresh fruit and pastries, plus Sara's homemade granola! Despite the rain, we couldn't resist exploring the beautifully landscaped grounds.There's parking, and easy walkable access to the rest of Penha, with its lovely trails and cafés and grottos. Best of all is the delightful staff -- "granola" Sara and general manager Sara and Mario -- who couldn't have been kinder and more welcoming and fun. We can't wait to return!"

"old hotel in badly need of renovation. Very uncomfortable and old mattress. Room with basics only. Old dirty carpet. Clean and functional bathroom though and good heating system. No restaurant, just basic breakfast. No parking either. Personnel ok."
