Værelserne (celler) er små, men veludstyret med en komfortabel seng og funktionelt badeværelse.Du kan føle historie, når du går ind i bygningen og hvor du går.De har en stor udendørs park for behagelige gåture. Kirken ved siden af hotellet er værd at besøge.Jeg boede i weekenden og deltog i søndagsmassen. Min eneste negative bemærkning er om morgenmad, som er meget skuffende med hensyn til produktsortiment og kvalitet.Indstillingen af morgenbuffet er meget dårlig og overhovedet ikke attraktiv. Frueholdet er ikke så velkommen og venligt som frontbordet eller damen på baren, som ikke opfylder man s forventninger på et sådant sted."

"We stayed for 2 nights with friends and kids at Quinta da Cancela 1720 and had such a fantastic experience. The location is amazing, a charmful traditional property with an amazing wineyard, park, swimming pool and stunning view on the Vinho Verde hills. Artur and his family are very tasteful hosts, who took great care of us and made sure we were feeling like at home. In particular we liked the tour of the property with all explanations, the wine tasting with details from the winemaker, and the traditional meal served at night in the charmful dining room. I would recommend this Quinta, either for a stay in one of the suites or in a camper van the park is also very suitable for that! Thank you so much again Artur"

"This is a delightful, authentic, and magnificiently peaceful place to stay in Guimaraes. When you arrive you are greeted by the exceptionally warm and kind owner whose family has owned the property for generations. It is an incredibly beautiful and historic building and each corner you look in has a unique pieces. The hotel has a winery and there is no more beautiful place to enjoy trying the wine than sitting by the pool looking out on the vineyards. This is not an incredibly fancy hotel, rather it is a country experience that really gives you a taste of life in Portugal. The entire experience far exceeding our expectations (was truly outstanding !) and we just wish we had planned to spend more time there. It is spotlessly clean and we can't wait to come back to spend more time at this truly unique and wonderful home. It is an experience not to be missed. "

"I hate to give a less than stellar review because it is a beautiful place, stylish and nice location. We stayed for 2 nights and because we don’t speak Portuguese I think we were not very welcome. We traveled in Europe for 6 weeks and this is the coldest reception we received. We felt like an inconvenience rather than a welcomed guest. This really tainted our experience and otherwise I think we would have enjoyed it. There were small things with our room as well- a wardrobe with no hangers, no hand soap at the sink, robes but missing the belts-weird but just small things. They did leave us a lovely cheese platter and bottle of wine which was wonderful."

"The hotel is located in a quiet area, eye that Google didn't know how to get to the one you should enter if you go in car where the church is. It is quite old but for quality-price is very recommendable, the beds are comfortable and both the hotel and the rooms are clean."
