"The traffic is very convenient, super close to the train station, across the street is the bus stop sign, you can sit directly to the palace and the mine museum. The room was clean, although close to the train station, our room was very quiet. The lady at the front desk service was very good and the introduction was very detailed. I gave two guest cards and brochures. With this, there is a discount on buying tickets at the attraction, and you can also take the bus for free."

Altstadt-Hotel Gosequell

"The hotel is located in the center of Goslar, so you can walk to every place and are allready right in these beautiful streets. Well, the price is ok, but you get a really simple room. We've been placed in a second house a few steps away from the main hotel and the rooms have been restaurated very, very rudimentarily and not well done and all this with the cheapest building materials. The breakfast room was not so welcoming, so we had no meals there to tell anything about it."

"We stayed for 2 nights across the weekend and our overall impressions are as follows: Firstly, the lady behind the “check-in desk” was somewhat terse, unsmiling and gave the impression she didn’t want to be there. No matter. Parking to the rear of the hotel is available @ €5/day. No biggie. V. handy. Room itself was OK, not anything to write home about but adequate. The use of room air conditioning was a godsend seeing as the temperatures in Goslar when we stayed were the high 20oC into the low 30oC ! Not a regular event, I’m sure! Nice, large flatscreen Panasonic TV in the room. Bathroom had been recently renovated. One matter that should be addressed is the lack of a slip mat in the shower. Once soap was on the base, it was like a skating rink. I can foresee an accident occurring. Needs addressing. Breakfast was good in general with a decent choice of typical German breakfast fare e.g. cold cuts and cheeses with salad stuff. On our last morning the hot option - scrambled eggs, bacon, browns etc were not hot at all; nearly cold in fact. The coffee machine was excellent, dispensing decent tasting coffee! The various “fresh juices” seemed watered down a bit and weren’t cold. Perhaps they should have swapped places with the eggs and bacon! Check out took 1 minute as everything was paid up front. In summary then, a 3 star hotel I guess, nice garden to the rear but no lift, so if you have walking difficulties then it might not be for you. I don’t want to appear negative, so I’ll end on an important positive note. The location means that the centre of the city is easily accessible by foot, as are most of the interesting visitor locations. Goslar is a jewel of a city and you won’t be disappointed with your visit. Would I stay at Kaiserhof again..? Maybe…."

Berghotel Harz

"Well, the reviews were a bit mixed, but we still went there with our grandchild and were generally pleasantly surprised. It would certainly have earned a higher rating if the need for renovations weren't so obvious. In any case, it's clean and you can sleep well. Sure, the whole place is stuck in the 70s, but it's very affordable. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast. I haven't had freshly baked rolls in a hotel in ages. And dinner was also good and plentiful. We were satisfied. The staff always had everything beautifully prepared. The small swimming pool was perfectly adequate and we used it frequently. It was a shame, though, that some older guests went on holiday with a certain underlying dissatisfaction and made sure everyone, especially the staff, knew it. Then they wrote ridiculous reviews. Here's a simple suggestion: just stay home, then you won't have to get worked up about little things. Thank you for the lovely short break, and also a piece of advice for the owner: you need to do some structural work, even if it's difficult, otherwise you won't survive the next 5 years, and that would be a real shame!"
