"Royal Blue offers a good price considering the cost of accomodation in Lomé. We enjoyed the rooftop view, the proximity to the market, and clean room with functioning air-con. Perhaps due to our room type being unavailable on check-in, we were moved to the top floor. Guests on this floor should be prepared to use the communal shower/toilet at the end of the hall. Like most Togolese accommodations, guests should be prepared for cold showers and top sheets/towels/additional bedding on request at the concierge. Enjoy the rooftop view and food from the market down the street! EcoBank ATM is a 3-minute walk away as well."

"Togolese and expats alike, flock to Madiba! I was skeptical when booking, due to rather average reviews on online booking sites. As a Swiss person, I'm very particular about cleanliness, quality of service, and the beauty of the setting. Here, everything is perfect, except for the inevitable rockwork that slightly spoils the view for guests choosing sun loungers near the edge of the platform. But unlike most establishments in Baguida, here you have access to magnificent beaches on both sides, offering very safe swimming (for strong swimmers, of course) and a one-hour round-trip walk to the east. The rooms are very pleasant (opt for the superior sea view rooms, which are only slightly more expensive), the staff is lovely, and the facilities are impeccable. The buildings are practically brand new, including the large swimming pool, the two bar-restaurants, and the beach huts. The icing on the cake, and this will likely change the rating for future visitors like myself, is that the restaurant has been under the direction of the very dynamic, friendly, and competent Guillaume, the owners' son, for the past few weeks. He left Anne-Sophie Pic's three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Valence, one of the best in France, to take over the reins. He's taking charge, and the quality of the food is very high for a truly reasonable price. The service is efficient and quite quick. Ideal, then, for a family weekend. The only downside is the excessively steep slope of the slide in the children's play area (you should use a parachute, but I've already suggested adding a little sand underneath it 😊). Finally, day entry is free, provided you purchase something."
