"My room had a huge floor-to-ceiling window with an unbeatable mountain view. The surrounding scenery was fantastic; birdsong, cicadas, and the babbling brook created a tranquil atmosphere. The white noise of nature was so soothing and calming. The guesthouse was well-built, with the wood having a subtle fragrance, and the lighting was bright but not glaring. The butler service was meticulous and attentive; any problems or needs were addressed immediately via WeChat, and someone was dispatched to handle them – so thoughtful! Another noteworthy aspect was the tea in each room. Even as someone who doesn't know much about tea, I was amazed. Later, during a conversation with the owner, I learned that he owns both a tea plantation and a guesthouse in Lushan. The tea plantation produces only 300 jin (150 catties) of tea annually, exclusively for guests at both guesthouses, as well as for himself and his friends. I even bought some before I left. It's also conveniently located near major attractions, about a 15-20 minute drive from the Sculpture Porcelain Factory, Taoxichuan, and Sanbao Village."

At approximately 7:30 AM on May 3, 2025, 15 of my family and friends took the hotel elevator upstairs. After we entered the elevator, we found no weight limit signs (later explained by elevator maintenance personnel that this was due to hotel renovations), no overload alarms, and the doors closed normally, and the elevator immediately began to move upwards. After 7:30 AM, I repeatedly tried to contact my family in the elevator, but was unable to get through. At 7:44 AM, upon realizing someone might be trapped, I called the Jingdezhen Fire Department. Prior to this, the trapped people had repeatedly pressed the emergency bell, but no one answered. My cell phone had no signal, so I couldn't call the emergency services. At 7:54 a.m., firefighters arrived on the scene, but because maintenance personnel hadn't arrived yet, they couldn't locate the trapped people and couldn't begin rescue operations. I repeatedly contacted the hotel front desk, asking for their phone number, but they refused. Besides the lack of signal and the elevator's overload alarm malfunctioning, the elevator in this crowded business space lacked ventilation. From 7:30 a.m., when we were trapped, to 8:20 a.m., when firefighters rescued us, my family suffered in the confined, unventilated space for 50 minutes. My mother fainted from extreme stress. On the afternoon of May 10th, the property management and the hotel notified us to negotiate. The only offer was a refund for the room rate, with no mention of the emotional distress caused by the elevator entrapment or the delay in the groom's wedding banquet. The property management company even attempted to shirk responsibility by claiming we intentionally loaded the elevator with excess weight. The key issue is that the elevator had no weight limit signs, no overweight warnings, and it operated normally when people entered. So, how can we claim we intentionally overloaded our luggage? After the accident, the property management company didn't provide an accident report, merely a brief statement of circumstances. The official seal wasn't from a professional appraisal agency, but from the property management company. After such a major incident, their lack of proactive compensation and proactive reflection and rectification demonstrates a complete disregard for consumer safety!
