I was picked up from Izmir by the owner himself who was a great guide at the same time. I was amazed to see him around working along his staff, treating them as family and they made me feel a valuable guest of this family. I know that I will be visiting Foca often after this great experience, needless to say, to stay at Midilli Konak, as the stone stays at the centre of Foca which is just ten minutes of walk by the sea. I was listening to Sezen Aksu on the way back who was signing 'I left my heart in the Aegean' and I was wondering if she left it at Foca, because that's where mine stayed when I left."
