"We chose this hotel out of necessity because it's advertised as pet-friendly. However, the rooms are incredibly musty and smell of dampness. There are no mosquito nets, so you can't get fresh air, and there are a lot of mosquitoes. The curtains are extremely dusty; dust kicks up when you close them. In addition, the hotel is extremely noisy. You might have to listen to drunken conversations late at night. The extra beds seem designed to prevent us from sleeping on them; they practically tell us to get up and sleep. In short, I wouldn't recommend it unless you absolutely have to stay."

"You can find the breathtaking view of this balcony in many places, what you cannot find is the smiles and the hospitality you get from the owner and the staff of this family business when delivering your breakfast to enjoy at your room or the five-star service you get even at the time of booking. I was picked up from Izmir by the owner himself who was a great guide at the same time. I was amazed to see him around working along his staff, treating them as family and they made me feel a valuable guest of this family. I know that I will be visiting Foca often after this great experience, needless to say, to stay at Midilli Konak, as the stone stays at the centre of Foca which is just ten minutes of walk by the sea. I was listening to Sezen Aksu on the way back who was signing 'I left my heart in the Aegean' and I was wondering if she left it at Foca, because that's where mine stayed when I left."
