"The hotel's location, decor, and service were all excellent, but I regret to mention two negative points. First, perhaps due to cleaning negligence, we found water in the tea bar cups upon check-in, indicating previous guests hadn't replaced them. This immediately raised suspicions, and although I tried to ignore it, I asked room service to replace them. However, perhaps due to limited English, the room service staff member didn't offer a sincere apology after replacing them, and apparently didn't inform the head of customer service, as no one contacted us afterward to explain the situation. Second, and this is crucial, our room was quite large because we needed an extra bed, resulting in two windows on one wall. The room faced the street, and the windows were the same old, worn-out type, making the soundproofing very poor. In Florence, a tourist city, soundproofing is still very poor even at 2 AM. Young people were wandering the streets, and municipal vehicles started working again in the early morning, so I didn't sleep well all night. Since I was only staying for two nights, I didn't want to change rooms. I strongly suggest that the hotel install a system window/door inside the room. Government regulations prohibit modern windows on the inside, but they can be installed inside the room. Even if it's an older window, it would at least block out most of the noise. I encountered the same problem in Rome today. The hotel was better than the one in Florence, but the soundproofing was worse because the room didn't have two windows, but two French-pane double doors. It looked nice, but the soundproofing was even worse. This time I'm staying for three nights, so I asked to change rooms. I don't know if I can get the same type of room. There are so many families traveling in this half-term, it's like the May Day holiday in China. I've attached some photos of the two rooms. They are beautiful, but we need better sleep quality."
