It is a simple, quiet and beautiful boutique hotel with no air-conditioner. 40minutes drive from the center of Luzern. If you will need to back to the hotel after 11pm, please be remembered the front door is closed and you will need your key to open the door. Recommend to those who will drive to travel in Engelberg but if you only plan to take a train tour, it is not for you. "

"I booked this hotel as the price was good and reviews were very good. After staying for 5 nights I can honestly say the staff were exceptional. Nothing was too much for them and every single time you see them they always would smile and speak to you and see how you are doing. I cannot praise them enough especially the lady on reception (sorry I did not get your name). The room was extremely clean and although the decor was dated (which fit the theme for the hotel so not a complaint) you could see the cleaning was extremely good and always done daily. The beds were comfy but 1 small suggestion is the sofa bed to have a matress topper as it can be a little too firm in areas. The hotel is in a great location, shuttle bus nearby to titlis or brunni or even a very short walk to the local monastery. The only feedback I would give is the hallways at night got very dark and sometimes the lights would not illuminate the stairs or hall very well. I have to say during the stay though the staff corrected this but it took a few days. Breakfast was lovely small spread but very nice. Again staff were fantastic there and would always happily greet you Thank you to the team for our stay and for sure I would recommend and stay again"

Beautiful, well-equipped room, comfortable bedding, modern bathroom. Impeccable cleanliness throughout the establishment. Varied breakfast buffet with quality products I also dined at the hotel restaurant with the surprise menu which was delicious. And the staff is professional, efficient and very pleasant. "During our visit in May 2024, our family had a great time and the hotel was great. With an interesting history, the hotel is family-run. It was reachable on foot, and both Mount Brunni and the bus stop were nearby. In the quaint village where it is located, the sounds of the distinctive Swiss cowbells greet us every morning. The hotel only offered breakfast, but it was excellent. Since we had to make last-minute changes to our plans, the owners were kind enough to reschedule our visit at no additional expense to us. The nearby Schweizerhaus restaurant is great for meals, but it gets busy in the evenings, so reservations are recommended. Note: The hotel does not have a lift."

"Thank you for a wonderful stay at your charming hotel. We arrived with reservations to an engleberg hotel in Germany! Yet the kind staff were able to accommodate us even though the hotel was very full. We enjoyed the use of the children’s playroom where our 2 year old granddaughter had lots of fun on one rainy afternoon. Our room was clean and spacious with a comfy bed and a delicious breakfast. We had to mail the room key back to them when we realized on the train to Murren that we had not returned it when we checked out! We are usually much better guests than that. I guess it was time to head home and stop traveling!"
